Janie,

You are in for a treat!  We lived in Charleston for 3 years or I should say Sherron lived in Charleston for two years.  I was gone most of the time.  We returned there for our 30th anniversary.    We went on a nightime horse drawn carriage ride around the city (add to your bucket list) and then found a small rooftop restaurant open for a late night cup of coffee.  Off in the distance we could hear a saxophone playing.  As we left the restaurant we could see the street musician all by himself playing his saxophone on the street corner.  We walked down, gave him a tip and then Sherron and I danced - just us and the saxophonists on the street corner.  It was one of those magical movie moments that only God could have set up.  I hope you enjoy Charleston half as much as we did that moment.

Janie,

Would love, love, love to get to Charleston, but won't be able to this time. I've been to Charleston only once, when we stayed on Kiawah Island for a week with Dick's family. We went to Charleston one day and saw the sights and rode the carriage Gary mentioned. It was hot as blazes though, and I'll never go again in August. We also took a sunset sail on a tall sail schooner, and it was fabulous---I highly recommend it.

Have a fabulous time and let us hear all about it when you return.

Diane

Hi Janie.

It's great to see you again here on the forum.  We've missed you being our "cheerleader."  Liz and I have been to Charleston a couple of times (once on our honeymoon) and thoroughly enjoyed it.  It is a wonderful, charming old city.  We hope that you and Charles will enjoy your trip and that you will have a blessed birthday trip.  Let us hear from you more often.

Love & Hugs,

Don

By the way, Janie... I see that you and my sweetheart Liz have the same birthday...June 28th.
