Hi, Everybody!! I'm sooo excited about our upcoming reunion! I can't wait to see everyone. 40 years is a long time and I guess we've all changed some--ha, ha. Gary, you have done a super job with this website and Connie, I'm sure that you and the gang are planning a fabulous event. I wish I could be there to help with the planning. Sounds as though you guys are having a ball doing the planning. Here is a brief summary of my last 40 years:
After graduation, Diane(Harris) Moore and I were roommates at Young Harris College during our freshman year. She spent every weekend going home and I spent every weekend staying on campus. You see, after dating the same really nice young man all through high school, I met the love of my life during my very first week at Young Harris College. We've been married 37 years now and have raised two wonderful children, who have become awesome adults. Jim and I have been so blessed with our children. Seth is 29 finished 3 years at Piedmont College and fell in love with a local girl--a gem. Now he drives for UPS. His wife, Miriam is a Delta flight attendant. They travel a lot, Seth surfs and is involved with Brazilian Ju Jitsu (sp?) which is mixed martial arts--(I'm not wild about the surfing or the fighting.) They have the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen--Caroline. Erin is 32 and tutors English to Korean speakers for several companies that have located in Montgomery. Her husband, Adam is youth minister at Heritage Baptist Church. He has an engineering degree from Southern Tech and Erin has a child development degree from UGA. Erin is very involved in his ministry. As a matter of fact they met at Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco where they both received Master of Divinity degrees. The most amazing part of their story is that Adam is from Warner Robbins. The joke is that we had to send her 3,000 miles away to meet a Georgia boy. They have little Max, the most entertaining 18 month old I've ever seen. SEE PICTURES BELOW.

As a little catch up, I retired 4 years ago and have spent the past four years sitting on my mountain top with my mini pinscher, Ruby, sitting on my lap, the remote in one hand, and the phone and credit in the other just searching for something to order. In other words I have become the person I used to laugh and make fun of.

I spent 31 years in education and decided it was time to come home and enjoy the mountains that surround us on all sides. I started out as a speech therapist in Oglethorpe County for 8 years. ( It was great fun to work with some of the teachers that I was so scared of when I was in elementary school.) Then my husband and I decided to move to Blairsville, his home town, where he became a school principal, a job he held for 25 of his 33 years in education. He says he had to retire so he could keep reign on my Jewelry Television addiction. Now he “job shares” every other week and fishes the rest. (Little did he know all the good shopping channels are on 24/7!) I spent 23 years with the Fannin County school as special education director, elementary school principal and the last 13 years as Assistant Superintendent, a great job but very stressful.

As for our health, Jim is as healthy as a horse. He goes to the gym every day. He also loves to fish, and of course living in the mountains he especially loves trout fishing. I have rheumatoid arthritis and am the proud owner of two new titanium knees and one new hip. At our age I'm sure I'm not the only one from our class who is working toward bionic status.

School Story:

I have a picture of the "sexy seven" taken at a spend the night party at Nancy Tucker's house. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!! I'll bring the picture just in case you've forgotten we were ever "sexy."
