Edd: You're not old and you're certainly not alone --keep believing that because there are still lots of deer and ducks that need to be shot!

Everyone

Please add my mother to your prayer list. I found out yesterday that she has had "multiple mini stokes" but is as home and carrying on with her life the best she can. Those of you that know her well, know she is the kind not to say anything to anyone about how she is feeling.

I noticed something wasn't right in her voice when I called last week and since then Jean has had her to the doc where they did an MRI of her brain. She will be upset with me for repeating this so if you run into her -- you know nothing unless she tells you -- DEAL !!!

Thanks everyone.

Janet

Janet, I'm so sorry about your mother. She is such an active lady that I know it kills her to stay in and do nothing. I pray she gets better soon! We got good news this week. My youngest granddaughter turned 2 on Thursday and we all eat supper with Chuck and his family. During the blessing my 4 granddaughters said "God is great, God is good Let us thank him for our food and Thank you for the baby in Joni's tummy!! Chuck had gotten them together earlier and told them to say it that way. We are all real excited!! We are working toward our very own cheerleader squad or at least a basketball team:)

So happy for you and Travis, Peggy.

Janet, I know it is hard for you being so far away from your mom. Please know how special she is to our family and to so many many people in Georgia. Let us know if we can help in any way.

Chuck and Joni lost their baby. She started having trouble on Tuesday and her doctor told her she was probably losing the baby. Please keep their family in your prayers. Thanks

Sorry to hear this.
We know how the family feels, being there ourselves.
God Bless.

Dear Peggy,
Tell Chuck and Joni that my thoughts and prayers are with them. Family, friends and God will see them through this difficult time.

My dear Peggy: I'm so sorry for the loss of Chuck and Joni's baby. I can certainly empathize with them -- it's emotionally devastating and only God can comfort them, and their faith that the baby is with the Lord. Please tell them that God has other plans for them and to rest in Him.

Hi Everyone--Now that I can sit at a computer for more than a minute I thought I would say hello and let you know why you haven't heard from from me for a few months.

Starting last fall over a several week period I went from walking ok to changing the way I walked, then losing some balance, then only taking small shuffle steps while holding onto something and losing balance. It was very frightening to say the least. Oh, and there had been no accident or injury as I always assumed when seeing people wearing those big restrictive things around their neck.

After several days in the hospital and many tests and MRIs, it was diagonosed I had a spinal compression in my neck with 3 vertebre affected. The neorosurgeon indicated I was just several days away from being permanently paralyzed with no reversal, so a 6 hour emergency surgery was performed. I now have tubes and scews in my neck and bone grafts were done for the 3 vertebrae. After several more days in the hospital I was transported to a transitional rehab facility. I was at the rehab place for 2 weeks, including Christmas.

When I got home I continued with home health care therapy for 6 weeks. I am now able to walk around the house slowly without the walker which seems like a big milestone! The doctor says I am on target for recuperation with takes 12-18 months but I will probably have some long lasting affects, and there is a large chance this could happen again further down the spine in about 5 years. None the less, I feel blessed to be walking!

As if there wasn't enough going on, we moved several weeks ago!! We moved to Acworth which is closer to most of my husband's work and his family. My husband orchestrated everything since my restrictions wouldn't allow any paraticipation-- doctor's orders to not reach, bend, raise arms above my head, put arms behind back, look up or look down or lift more than 5 pounds--all of this really means there is nothing I can do!! I am just now able to sit at the computer for longer than a couple of minutes.

Anyway, now you know why y'all have not heard from me for several months!

I think of y'all often. I enjoy this site for keeping up with everone. I hope everyone has a nice Spring, the daffodils in the yard indicate there will be a spring after too much cold this winter!

Janet

Janet: You've been through a wringer, and pain I would imagine! I'm happy that you're on the other side of all this misfortune. Has the Dr. told you what causes compressions? Your symptoms must have really put some fear into your mind about what might have been happening to you.
It still amazes me at what our bodies can go through, and what doctors and physical therapy can accomplish to bring us back to at least "near" normal. I'm so happy that you are able to walk/move as well as you can. I will certainly remember you in prayer. Thanks for sharing your misfortune with us. Do take care and I pray you will continue to improve beyond what your doctors expect. Keep us posted.

Janet I'm so glad to hear you are on the road to recovering. It is great to have this web site so we can support each other even if it is by internet. I heard yesterday that Steve Woods is in Athens Regional with congestive heart failure and pneumonia. Everyone remember him in your prayers also.

Janet I am so sorry to hear you have had such a hard time. We really don't know what we will face each day on this earth. I am so glad God is watching over you and you are doing so much better. Just keep your chin up and don't give up. You will be better soon! I will keep you in my prayers.

Warren, I am sorry to hear about Steve. My Mom is in the hospital so I will pop in on Steve and see how he is doing. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Janet, you are in our prayers. It sounds like you are a very strong person to have gone through what you have gone through. I hope you are continuing to improve and will soon be feeling good as new, or at least for a 59 year old!!
Ann, I hope your mother is doing better. We will remember her in our prayers as well. You have alot on your plate too!
Warren keep us informed about Steve. Hope he is doing better today.

To all of you that would like to hear David Burt preach again, he will be preaching at clouds Creek Baptist Church on Sunday night, March 14 at 7:00. I invite all of you that can please come and sit on my pew and enjoy David's preaching. He would appreciate it also.

Wow
it has been a few day sense i looked at the Message forum.
I'm glad to hear Janet B is doing better and hate that she has gone thou this.
I feel some times that when things get us down that God is trying to get our attention.
Slow down and listen, He can carry us through these days and on the other side it will draw us closer to Him.
God Bless and keep you.

Also How is Steve?
I tried to catch up with him several times but didn't
I want to go by and see him if things work out.
I have to make a trip to SC this weekend and help Janel get into her home there.
They closed last week and got to do some painting and she found rotten wood in floor yesterday, so we will have to see what that involves.
Oh the Joys of owning a house!

You'ald take care and keep us informed.

It has been a few days/weeks since I have been here and right now I am in SHOCK with all that has happened to everyone. Peggy, I am sorry for your family's loss, Janet, I am glad you are on the road to recovery and I will keep Steve along with everyone else in my thoughts and prayers. What a time everyone seems to be having. However, I do agree with Tim, God only gives us what HE knows we can handle.

God be with us all and Bless each and every one of us.

Janet

It was really good to see some of you on Sunday night at revival. David did an excellent job preaching again. On Monday night we went to Bethany Church. We saw Johnny Glenn and Allen Bridges. It was good to see them. Allen played the guitar for the choir and congregational singing. Tuesday night we will go Stevens Grove and Wednesday night we will go to Millstone. The different churches are having a Round Robin Revival. It's been nice hearing other preachers and seeing people from other churches. It's been fun seeing some of my classmates!!

Bulldog I guess you were in mourning today. I heard on the news that on this day the Beatles broke up. I didn't catch. The year it happened. I was surprised it didn't show up on the home page since they are always talking about when their songs came out.
