Lori Godlove (Goering)

Most likely I will too. Just trying to get Danny's hopes up for another vote for Nader.

A wasted vote is one given to one of the two knuckleheaded parties that have this country doubling over in financial pain. That is a wasted vote.

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

I think my vote will be wasted anyway, as Obama is probably going to win the election.

McCain started out pretty good in the debate tonight and then he fizzled. He was "milk toast."

Obama is glib as Bill O'Reilly (sp?) says. He is able to talk his way out of a paper bag but talk won't cut it when he is in the White House.

Lori Godlove (Goering)

I did't watch it, but read about it on CNN. Not good. Isn't it ironic, you have the privelige to vote, and you feel like your vote will be wasted anyway?

How is Emma doing?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (tomorrow) Christie!

10/16/08 07:19 PM #363

Danny Beck

Happy Birthday, Cuz. For your birthday I am granting you the right to vote for Ralph Nader. It will be such a wonderful act to let the two parties know that we are not all a bunch red and blue Bregars, er, I mean lemmings.

Thanks Lori - how did you know it was my b-day? My last 40-something b-day. Sigh... Every year is a blessing, truly. I am very grateful to be turning 49!! There, I said it!! I feel better. lol

Emma is doing really well. We are trying to teach her to crawl - she doesn't seem to "get it." I think we have spoiled her by carrying her around too much, so we are trying to put her down on the floor more, on her tummy.

Now Dan, I personally would rather have money for my birthday, but thanks for the well wishes anyway! hee

Cuz, I'd pay you money to vote for Nader but I know nothing good would come from that. I'll give you a candy bar if you vote for Nader.

Your birthday is posted on the bottom of the home page.

HOPE YOUR DAY IS A DAN-DY ONE!!!!

10/17/08 10:10 PM #366

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

You know, Dan, that is tempting - a candy bar if I vote for Nader....let me think about it. :)

My birthday was quiet. The 3 of us will go out to someplace kid friendly tomorrow night to celebrate my last 40-something birthday.

Hey am I the oldest one in the class of '78??

Happy birthday to Karen tomorrow, Lori!! :) I always remember her birthday and happy belated birthday to cousin Gary, Dan!!

Lemmings - that hurts. I actually educate myself before I vote (way more than most unfortunately). The ability to vote for whoever you want is one of the things that makes this country great. A vote for a third party makes people feel good but like a lot of feel good things it has other consequences - Perot assisting Clinton and Nader helping Bush. The previously Nader affiliated green party and green movement are in the same boat. Nader wants to support solar power and not nuclear. That is feel good hype and shows the lack of reality in his position.

But I am still for all the Obama votes that go to Nader we can get so "Go Dan!"

10/20/08 08:18 AM #368

Danny Beck

C'mom, Curt, lemmings are cute.

I agree that it is a shame that very few people actually do the research before they vote. Sadder yet is the fact that your educated vote counts the same as the nimrod who votes for the candidate with the best smile or color of his skin or how nice his wife is or just because of the party affiliation.

All I can hope for is that people vote with their heart and not because they feel compelled by any peer pressure to vote for the "right" candidate. (No pun intended)

On a much lighter note, it is the 20th of October and no snow here in Minnesota yet. Down to 32 degrees forecasted for tonight. I wonder if lemmings can handle Minnesota winters. Luv ya, Curt. :)

10/20/08 03:17 PM #369

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

I think most of the American people are intelligent enough to go with their gut instinct (unless they vote Obama in as our next president - hee) and I have to disagree with you on the "nimrods" who only vote along party lines. Democrats and republicans are polar opposites on a lot of issues. There would be NO WAY I could vote democrat at this point in my life, now that I know what I truly feel passionate about.

To me a nimrod is someone who is a conservative on all issues and is voting for Obama only because they are fearful about the economy and because Obama promises their world will change overnight when he is president. A conservative should know that democrats believe in "sharing the wealth" and taking money from hard-working people by raising taxes, to give to those who choose to have 10 kids when they can't afford them or to those who won't work, or to illegals (yes these people are human beings, but illegals are breaking the law). If Obama cuts taxes like he says he will, I will have to see it to believe it! That is NOT what democrats do.

And yes, as Curt said, go Dan and campaign for Nader all you want if it will help McCain in the slightest. lol

These songs were great!!!! Disco Duck did not make ths list. DISCO FREAKING DUCK!!!!

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Danny, unfortunately I started singing "Disco Duck" at work a couple weeks ago when the lights started flickering. It just some how popped into my head. Very catchy tune!

And I do agree with Christi, Obama probably will win and I don't think we will see one bit of improvement.

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

ok I have been reading al of this about who to vote for I have never really paid much attention to the polls . A lady I work with has been talking alot about this guy
named Baldwin does anyone know anything about this person

10/21/08 10:06 PM #373

Danny Beck

Hi Teri, I can dig this Baldwin guy. I am voting for Nader but Baldwin seems like he has some good ideas.

"In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils." Or, in the case of John McCain and Barack Obama, what we have is a choice between the "evil of two lessers."

Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. For years now, Republicans and Democrats have been leading the country in the same basic direction: toward bigger and bigger government; more and more socialism, globalism, corporatism, and foreign interventionism; and the dismantling of constitutional liberties. Yet, voters continue to think that they are voting for "change" when they vote for a Republican or Democrat. This is truly insane!"

-Chuck Baldwin

10/23/08 01:51 PM #374

Curt Bregar

First time I read about Chuck Baldwin I thought he was an idiot. Then I reread it and now understand that he is an ultra-conservative idiot. Get rid of the IRS and put a 10% tariff on all imports? Has the guy ever read an economics book or studied history? Restore a debt-free interest free economy? Sounds good but won't work.

This guy will take away McCain's votes so I am a strong supporter of third party voters following Dan's lead ...Go Dan!.

10/23/08 03:57 PM #375

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

Per Dan's post: "Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result."

Wasn't Einstein an atheist? Hello! Sounds like something one with no hope or faith would say.

You know right now the new AP poll is showing McCain and Obama neck-in-neck. I think I was being brainwashed by the polls the liberal media was putting out there also - giving up "hope" that McCain had a chance.

This new poll has knocked some sense back into me and my faith is back!

Curt - I love reading your comments - you are so cerebral and interesting!! You are too, Dan, but...I just don't agree with YOU! lol

10/24/08 05:02 PM #376

Danny Beck

Curt, you say third party voters will take away votes from McCain and you seem pleased. Or did you mean to say Obama. Third party voters will take away votes from both parties.

I do not believe in a deity and I have faith and hope every day when I awake. I cherish every day I get on this blue marble.

McCain will certainly be the funnier of the two. He has now made a promise today in Christie's state that he is going to make all Americans wealthy. I'll bet the drunk homeless bum is glad to hear that. If he can truly make that guy wealthy and everyone else in his predicament, then I would vote for him. What a crazy thing to say.

VOTE FOR NADER. Do not reward those that have put this country in the terrible shape that it is.

10/24/08 09:28 PM #377

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Who came up with this "democracy" that we live in now? This "government"? Do we really have the freedom that these aliens believe we have when busting their butts to come to America? They come and take away the jobs that we have worked for, for minimum wages. Most big credit companies send their telemarketing overseas, because it is more cost effective. We send our products to different countries for them to be manufactured by little children and take a risk of the products coming to America are not contaminated. And God knows, a lot of us will not have anything left in our retirement funds. I know people that have at least $10,000 in the last quarter of their retirement fund. And let's take a look at our children. They have no pride for our country. They think joining the military is a free ride to school. They don't go in any more to protect our country. We have given too much to our children and they don't know how to really work like we did. Hmm, did our parents say that about us?
So, who is the right person to fill the shoes of our "Commander in Chief"? How can it change? Do we vote Republican, Democrat or Independent? Just something to ponder on for the next couple of weeks, while we listen to these candidates put each other down.

10/25/08 06:52 AM #378

Curt Bregar

Dan I said "This guy will take away McCain's votes so I am a strong supporter of third party voters following Dan's lead ...Go Dan!. I was trying to put in a plug for you and your guy! If people are going to vote third party I'd rather they follow Nader pulling liberal votes than the ones who will vote for Baldwin instead McCain. It's basically a certainty that third party votes will have an impact on whether McCain or Obama wins but a third party will not win the election (at least this years presidential election). So they have an impact, it just happens to be 180 out from what their intention is.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Anybody doing anything fun tonight? I bought $40.00 worth of candy to hand out to the little buggers tonight. The weather is nice so I expect a large turnout.

Our trick or treaters were last night. We are the last house on the street so we don't get many people. Neighbors twins are about two years old and they went as thing 1 and thing 2. Cute

10/31/08 09:22 PM #382

Lori Godlove (Goering)

We don't have any trick or treaters out here, and I miss that. But we did have a grandson yesterday. Kevin's daughter and son-in-law Scott and Ashley are proud parents of a beautiful baby boy, Benjamin Scott Madole, weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz. He has been in NICU because of low blood sugar but things are going very well, and hopefully will be home by Sunday.

How many more days until election day???

10/31/08 10:57 PM #383

Danny Beck

Three days. Three days fellow classmates to make your decision on who will lead this country for the next four years. I am proudly voting for Nader. I just hope everyone reviews the candidates and then makes the effort to vote on Tuesday.

Lots of kiddies begging for candy tonight. It was fun. These silly "mini" candybars. Man, I remember getting the full size candy bars.
