We are not far behind you in the wind farms, Ruth.

Iowa is the third largest producer of wind energy in the US, just behind California and Texas. Our state's topography and electric transmission lines combine for a wind energy friendly environment.

I work for an apprenticeship that trains power lineman, and we have dozens and dozens or apprentices working on these in Iowa. It maybe more environmentally safe, but I think in the long run it is going to cost more. Those parts can't last forever, and I know linemen don't come cheap. Of course, I would not do what they do for what they get paid.

Thanks for the inside info Lori and the website Curt. It's a controversial topic. Let's hope for the best for our future grandchildrens' sake... Gas prices, energy resources, politics, are we getting old? Let's talk about that birthday party in Vegas. Any ideas yet?

How does end of March sound to everyone?? I am so ready to get out of Iowa. I know for most it is the year before we turn 39 (heheehe), but let's hear some thoughts.

Ruth you pick the hotel. And how is the Texas Hold em going?

Oh and when Kevin and I went out a few years ago, we stayed at Circus Circus. Good rate with the plane flight. But.... I wouldn't suggest it. We ate dinner at one of the resturants there, and I was really grossed out and went up to the room and got sick. Needless to say I DID NOT eat.

I'm already planning a trip around March 13th, 2009 for my youngest daughter's 21st birthday. I'm glad to work on hotel group rates if we have enough interest during that timeframe. I would suggest a moderate priced hotel in the middle of the Vegas strip to avoid cab fares like Harrah's, Bally's, or Planet Hollywood. Airfare is the tricky part from Iowa, what airline did you fly out on Lori? It's sounds like you did a package deal thru Orbitz, Travelocity, or Expedia?

Hi Ruth,
Actually, Allegiant flies from Des Moines to Las Vegas straight through. They are usually pretty cheap. Will do some checking and see who all is interested around that date. Winter is already here in Iowa, so March seems a very long time away.

It just keeps getting stranger by the post.

We woke up to a couple inches of snow this morning. Should be gone by the end of the day. That was quite the wake up call that winter is here.

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

As far as I'm concerned Dan you can keep the snow until
Christmas Day then let us have a inch or two thats it I know I'v lived in Iowa all my life I should be use to it but I'm not I hate cold and wearing coats.

Danny- loving the little juke box at work. Even Micki (Bauer) and Taylor Coffman (yes Will's daughter) love it. And look at the difference in ages. The music lives on!

This music thingie is pretty cool. I will take requests for tunes you remember hearing on the radio during our high school years.

You will also notice the current weather for Liberty Center on the home page. Seems to be better than Saint Paul's weather.

How about the 55-0 Iowa beat down on Minnesota? That was great. I am proudly wearing my Hawkeyes sweatshirt in Minnesota today.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my dear classmates. I hope you and your families enjoy a safe and wonderful day.

I will be shopping at 4:00AM on Friday morning. If you have not experienced this crazy phenomenon, I highly recommend you check it out. You'll see a side of the human race you could not have imagined.

Oh Danny! Happy Thanksgiving to you. Just read about a Wal-mart person being trampled in Long Island, New York and some shooting out in California in a Toy R Us store. Idiots, I went to Walmart at 8:30 and still got what I wanted. No gift is worth death.

Oh, and then in the afternoon we took 2 of our grandchildren and my niece to Disney on Ice. I had a great time! I have never seen it before! I felt like a kid again! I recommend it for everyone!!
