Christina Haltom (Farrar)

We were in Iowa also Curt and had a great time introducing Emma to family. She ate up all the attention (while her Mama ate up all the home cooking!).

I got on the site to say happy birthday to all the December birthdays (knew Dan's b-day was coming up) and Ronda's and uh-hum, Lori, or whoever, Randy Eubank should be on there too - same day as Ronda!! lol

Glad to see that several people will be joining the ranks of the 49'ers and holding! :) Happy Birthday everyone! Hope the coming year is a fantastic one!

I also want to wish ALL of you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009. God bless!!!

BTW - I LOVE the music on the site - it really takes me back in time hearing it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

How odd that all classmates with the same last name have the same birthdays. How did a dude that can barely remember all three of his wedding anniversaries become the keeper of the birthday board? HEE HEE!!!! Keep bringing them to my attention and I will see to it that everyone's birthday is posted.

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Happy Birthday Danny. What? You must be 49 or something?? Hope you have a great day!

Terri, my shopping is not done. Nor my list of what to get people! Times a ticking, and I am running out of it. And I still need to bake cookies. I think I am still worn out from the summer, and just can't get into that mood.

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your family and friends, that is the most important thing.

Wow, didn't this year fly? Let's all try to add some holiday pictures. It will be great to see them.

I would like to wish all my classmates a very safe and wonderful holiday season.

I start my shopping tomorrow. The only way to do it.

Danny Beck

HELLO!

WOW! What an echo. I guess my classmates all hibernate in the winter. Yet, here I am wide awake in Minne-SNOW-ta. Something wrong with this. Maybe they have not recovered from the New Year's Eve bash.

2009. Can you believe it? I do, I just looked at my calendar.

01/09/09 09:35 PM #444

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

Dan, I look here everynight you seem to be the only one alive. I haven't heard anything about Kathy, haven't seen anyone but Edgar. our weather has been pretty good since christmas but I think thats suppose to end tonight

01/12/09 09:15 PM #445

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

hey Dan Christy's Birthday is the 23 of January too . just to let you know and hows the weather up north

01/13/09 09:24 PM #446

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Hello!!! Terri is right, don't forget Kristi's birthday! Oh and by the way, I need a survey done. Time for me to renew the website. Is it a no or a yes? This comes out of my pocket, so I need lots of responses. I vote we keep this going. Come on everyone, what is your opinion??

Oh, Danny, it is very cold here too. I hate winter. Why in the world do you live in a place that get more snow than Iowa? What is wrong with you? I want to share with you an email I received. It is called "A Diary of a Demented Shoveler". If any of the words offend anyone, I am sorry, but it is....funny.

December 8 6:00 PM

It started to snow. The first snow of the season and
The wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by
The window watching the huge soft flakes drift down
From heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses print. So
Romantic we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow!

December 9

We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow
Covering every inch of the landscape. What a fantastic
Sight! Can there be a more lovely place in
The whole world? Moving here was the best idea I've
Ever had!
Shoveled for the first time in years and felt like a
Boy again. I did both our driveway and the sidewalks.
This afternoon the snowplow came along and covered
Up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got
To shovel again. What a perfect life!

December 12

The sun has melted all our lovely snow. Such a
Disappointment! My neighbor tells me not to worry-
We'll definitely have a white Christmas. No snow on
Christmas would be awful! Bob says we'll have so much
Snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see
Snow again. I don't think that's possible. Bob is such
A nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.

December 14

Snow, lovely snow! 8 inches last night. The
Temperature dropped to -20. The cold makes everything
Sparkle so. The wind took my breath away, but I warmed
Up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks. This is
The life! The snowplow came back this afternoon and
Buried everything again. I didn't
Realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling,
But I'll certainly get back in shape this way. I wish
I wouldn't huff and puff so.

December 15

20 inches forecast. Sold my van and bought a 4x4
Blazer. Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2
Extra shovels. Stocked the freezer. The wife wants
A wood stove in case the electricity goes out. I think
that's silly. We aren't in Alaska , after all.

December 16

Ice storm this morning. Fell on my ass on the ice in
The driveway putting down salt. Hurt like hell. The
Wife laughed for an hour, which I think was very
Cruel.

December 17

Still way below freezing. Roads are too icy to go
Anywhere. Electricity was off for 5 hours. I had to
Pile the blankets on to stay warm. Nothing to do but
Stare at the wife and try not to irritate her. Guess I
Should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to
Her. God I hate it when she's right. I can't believe
I'm freezing to death in my own livingroom.

December 20

Electricity is back on, but had another 14 inches of
The damn stuff last night. More shoveling! Took all
Day. The damn snowplow came by twice.
Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but they said
They're too busy playing hockey. I think they're
Lying.
Called the only hardware store around to see about
Buying a snow blower and they're out. Might have
Another shipment in March. I think they're lying. Bob
Says I have to shovel or the city will have it done
And bill me. I think he's lying.

December 22

Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more
Inches of the white shit fell today, and it's so cold,
It probably won't melt till August. Took me 45 minutes
To get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I
Had to piss. By the time I got undressed, pissed and
Dressed again. I was too tired to shovel. Tried to
Hire Bob who has a plow on his truck for the rest of
The winter, but he says he's too busy. I think the
Asshole is lying.

December 23

Only 2 inches of snow today. And it warmed up to 0.
The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house
This morning. What is she, nuts?!!
Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago? She
Says she did but I think she's lying.

December 24

6 inches - Snow packed so hard by snowplow, I broke
The shovel. Thought I was having a heart attack. If I
Ever catch the son of a bitch who drives that snow
Plow, I'll drag him through the snow by his balls and
Beat him to death with my broken shovel. I know he
Hides around the corner and waits for me to finish
Shoveling and then he comes down the street at a 100
Miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just
Been! Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas
Carols with her and open our presents, but I was too
busy watching for the damn snowplow.

December 25

Merry f---ing Christmas! 20 more inches of the damn
slop tonight - Snowed in
The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil. God, I hate
the snow!
Then the snowplow driver came by asking for a donation
and I hit him over the head with my shovel. The wife
says I have a bad attitude. I think she's a fricking
idiot. If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one
more time, I'm going to stuff her into the microwave.

December 26

Still snowed in. Why the hell did I ever move here? It
was all HER idea.
She's really getting on my nerves.

December 27

Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze;
plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he
only charged me $1,400 to replace all my pipes.

December 28

Warmed up to above -20. Still snowed in. The BITCH is
driving me crazy!!!

December 29

10 more inches. Bob says I have to shovel the roof or
it could cave in. That's the silliest thing I ever
heard. How dumb does he think I am?

December 30

Roof caved in. I beat up the snow plow driver, and now
he is suing me for a million dollars, not only for the
beating I gave him, but also for trying to shove the
broken snow shovel up his ass. The wife went home to
her mother.
Nine more inches predicted.

December 31

I set fire to what's left of the house. No more
shoveling.

January 8

Feel so good. I just love those little white pills
they keep giving me. Why am I tied to the bed?

Lori the poem was cute I hadn't seen that one yet I vote to keep the sight I look at it almost dailey to see if anyone has updated or someone new has gotten on I think Danny is the only one that ever types on here I also keep up with him on facebook so my vote is Yes.

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

Yes to keeping the site!

I am unsure why more people don't get on this site. I find it very wonderful to be able to check up on the people I started out on this life's journey with. It is as if time has stood still. I am enjoying the rapport - just wish more people would join in the conversations and tell more about what is going on in their lives.

Take care everyone.

Curt Bregar

I enjoy seeing the posts but there aren't many so I wouldn't spend much.

On another note my daughter is engaged and getting married in New Orleans in June:)

Take care - it is only in the 20's here. Not a place for man nor beast.

Curt

01/14/09 03:34 PM #450

Carla Hunerdosse (Ball)

Curt,I think all us in Iowa would take 20 degrees today.
We were at our high of 4 degrees this morning. 15 below tonight.
Congrats to your daughter. Time flies.... New Orleans in June will be great! Big wedding? How is your Mom, my Mom has been wondering.

Yes Lori keep it going. If you would like some donations to keep it going just let us know and we can all chip in. You shouldn't have to pay for it all.
Right everyone?!

01/14/09 07:08 PM #451

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Ok, we will go for another year! So come on classmates that get on and peak, join in. We had such a great time at the reunion, why not keep in touch.

Congrats on your daughter's wedding Curt. You and Pam try not to cry. It won't be easy. I bawled like a baby at Nicole's. Still get a little weepy now and then.

I have a little news myself, speaking of Nicole. She has been a cheerleading coach at Urbandale All Stars for it seems like years now. Taken her team all the way to Florida for competition, won a few, lost a few. But she will be opening her own gym in Johnston. If all goes well, sometime in April. I don't think she is going to give me a job coaching, but I will hopefully be able to help her with other things.

Ruth, if you log on now and then. Might not make it Vegas this spring. Maybe in the fall.

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Danny, still don't see Kristi's b'day on there. She is going to cry if she ever gets on here.

01/14/09 09:40 PM #453

Danny Beck

HELL YEAH! The site must continue!!!! I'll get Jerry Lewis involved to have a telethon to generate the funds to keep it going. I am one of Jerry's kids (Jerry Beck).

We are going down to 21 below zero tonight. That is air temperature classmates. Thursday's high will be -6. WHY? Why do I stay here?

Stay warm, Curt. I really feel for you, brother.

01/15/09 06:33 AM #454

Curt Bregar

Carla- Mom is doing good down in Albia. Unfortunately she isn't up to going to Chelsea's wedding.

Lori I don't consider myself a very emotional guy and when we went wedding dress shopping I did pretty good until she put on the dress we chose and then put on the veil. I had to get very quite.

I have blocked all those below zero things out of my mind. I've got to go to Boston Monday so I have to find where my heavy coat ... brrr.

01/15/09 07:29 PM #456

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Yea, Terri, I got a few emails from Edgar too. Edgar, please join us.

I will keep this going. Anyone got any ideas to add to this site. Besides more people participating?

Curt, you will be fine. She will make a beautiful bride and you and Pam should be very proud. Just remember, daughters seem to marry men that resemble their fathers, since their fathers have such an impact on them growing up. For Chelsea sake, I hope that is a good thing. Does he know how to match his socks yet? hehehe Sorry to hear that your mom won't be able to make it. I am going to assume Craig and Debbie are coming. If they need me to drive them, I am there for them! We can start out now!

01/15/09 07:32 PM #457

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Oh Terri, congrats again! How many does Paulette have? We have one due in February, that will make # 4. But he will be in Japan for the first 3 years of his life. Hopefully, they will get to come home sometime in the summer. Grandpa wants to introduce him to the farm life.

01/15/09 08:41 PM #458

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)
