Yea it would be great to have at least 100% of our classmates there. Come on Lori! We want to see you!

Jim,

Saw your new pictures- and the question is - will you be wearing the leisure suit for the reunion?

04/17/08 07:25 PM #89

Jim Reeves

I would.....but it seems to have shrunk. Whats up with that

Barbara Coffman (Weeks)

Jim - Probably from all the wit and wisdom you have collected over the past 30 years. LOL If that is true, I believe we are ALL alot wiser than we were then...

I am hoping to score a leisure suit for the parade. I have some platform shoes already!!!! A nice day-glow green leisure suit would be killer!

Thanks to my wonderful mother, I have been able to post some class photos of the Milo kids and then when they shipped some of us to Lacona in 5th and 6th grade. I have been told this was done to bring up the grade point average of the Lacona school. Yeah, I did it. I have thrown down some smack. Bring it on Laconians!

Dan,

Obviously by the time you posted your message, it was way past your bedtime and you must have been very tired. The reason you were sent to Lacona is so that the Laconian's could tutor you so your GPA would go up.

And as for your leisure suit and platform shoes, I think you should have a float all to yourself- just as long as you have a mic and sing. Oh and we get to pick the music.

Hey Lori,

My best thinking is late at night so I am sure I am 100% correct on my theory. They really wanted to send us to Liberty Center but they did not have an elementary. YEAH!!!! Liberty Centerites, I am after you now. HA HA!!!!

I would do a float by myself but I plan on moving back to Milo some day and I would hate to jeopardize my welcome.

This site does ROCK!!!!

You know, Cousin Dan, I will ignore your remark about Laconians. Those of us of superior intelligence are secure in ourselves. :)

I'm with Dan since I was one of those kids that had to go to Lacona too even though I lived less than a mile from Milo! The best thing about having to go to Lacona was we had a lot of fun riding the "shuttle." Those are some of my best memories of having to ride a bus!!

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

That all sounds like so much fun I on the other hand didn't join all of you until the 7th grade so I don't have any memory until middle school

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Well Teri, I lived in Liberty Center during grade school. And all of my grade school years I went to Lacona, and then there was this awful year, I was forced to go to Milo. It was just horrible. Scariest year of my life. I just never understood why they sent us there. And then it was explained to me in my later years, that there was a Danny Beck there, and I was sent there to make him smart. And here he is today, the smart Dan that we know and remember. You are welcome Dan. Peace Out! hehehe Oh Dan, the float awaits you!

HA HA!!!! You silly Laconians and Liberty Centerites. How funny that we had such distinct little villages. Liberty Center that sounds like a secret pathway to all that Liberty stands for. Lacona with the High School football field located by the elementary. Milo, where just three miles south a genius named Beck, Daniel, was to toil away through two backwards years in Lacona elementary only to break away and rule all of Minnesota and parts of Northern Iowa.

Remember what I told you Cousin Dan Beck, self-appointed ruler of a very small part of the world: "Pride comes before the fall." hehehe

I helped elect a former professional wrestler to be the Governor of Minnesota. I was actually at Jesse Ventura's campaign headquarters the night he won the election. It was one crazy time. Jesse, he ain't the smartest but I did believe every word out of his mouth. I dare anyone to say that about any other politician and believe what YOU are saying.

I don't think that can be done Dan unless we have one that is just a common person not a silver spoon

Dan - what a wonderful thing you are doing by making the CDs for everyone (with proceeds going to Kathy) - you are too sweet (no matter what everone else says)! lol Great songs and I want to buy one for sure. Will send you a check in the mail. You no longer accept animals in trade? - dang!! We have a lot of "extra" cats around this place...

Just reading the titles of the songs on the CD brings the memories all rushing back. We were the last good music generation, don't ya think?

04/24/08 11:30 PM #103

Danny Beck

You are so correct, Chris. I absolutely love the 70's music. I am serious about making a Volume 2 CD. If there are any requests, let me know. My music library is insane. ROCK ON!!!!

04/25/08 10:49 AM #104

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

Were there any Linda Ronstadt or James Taylor songs in the top 100 during those years? That is my request for CD-II.

Thanks Dan and have a great weekend!

Hey, how about them Rockies??? Really I don't know what I am talking about, as I don't know how they have been doing lately. Wayne has been watching them closely. How are the Cards doing? I am on a low-carb diet right now, so WHEN I win our bet, I will give my dark-chocolate Snickers and Pepsi to Wayne. :)

....or something by the Eagles - know Hotel California was on the top album list in 1977. Thanks Dan - have a good week everyone.

04/28/08 07:29 PM #106

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Yes, Dan I agree with Christi. A little Eagles, a little Linda.

Oh and what about those Yankees?

04/30/08 09:29 PM #107

Danny Beck

Looks like a Volume II is necessary. I will begin work on it this weekend. There were so many good songs during our Senior year. Thanks for the input.

05/05/08 05:05 PM #108

Becky Lundberg (King)

Hey, Dan - I echo everyone else on saying thanks for putting together this CD. My request for a volume II would be some Captain and Tenille - I know, a little sappy but still reminiscent. And maybe some Kenny Rogers or Oak Ridge Boys? I'm glad to see that We Will Rock You is included. That was like our psych song, wasn't it?? I'll try to get you a check in the mail. Thanks again!
