The owner of this 120 acres throws himself a birthday party every year. He has a beautiful camping area with a permenant outdoor stage for the bands to play. It is Friday and Saturday night. Five bands that play 3 hour sets. It is an hour south of the Twin Cities. The real kicker is....it is only $50.00 per person with camping and BEER included. Yeah, there will be some pretty drunk people but it has always been a very relaxing time with some good music. I have been there three times and I think it would be cool to share the weekend with some classmates. Especially you biker dudes. This is right up your alley. Check out the website and mark your calendars. Come see what Minnesota partying is all about.
June 1st is tomorrow- does anyone want to get together and do the float for the parade or not? I will also send to anyone on Facebook. If no one wants to participate, so be it.
I was thinking about a Redneck Vacation theme. Maybe a cow tank on the float and some redneck swimwear. Cutoff bib overalls and boots. A couple of us could be fishing in the same cow tank. I need to do some redneck research. What do you think about the Redneck vacation theme?
Danny, that sounds good. I am sure we can come up with some additional stuff, but that is an awesome start. Lori - the parade is Sunday at 1pm, registration at noon.
Lori- I'm donating the red underwear for whoever wants to wear them on the float. I gracefully decline this yr, but will help get the float together. Rick will help to if he can and I'll volunter him to ride on the float also.
Perfect! Lori can wear the red undies with a bikini on the oustide of the undies in our redneck (cow tank) pool. Hell, I might even sign up for that action. We could be playing horseshoes with toilet seats as well. We will come up with good ideas for this.
Dan- I think you definitely need some kind of wild critter on a spit over a fire. Who has a stuffed raccoon? I'll ask Rick if we have a tank for the "cement pool" on the float. The front of a cabin on the back of the float would look neat, would need some old lumber though.
Love the Vacation idea Danny- and that is a definite NO!on the red thing. And why do we need a stuffed raccoon? I will just pick up a dead possuum on the way into town that morning. Dianne if you don't have a "swimming hole" let me know, I will see what I can find. Barb- are we meeting at your Mom's again?
Oh, wow, one more thing, I am going to have Robin send out a challenge to all the other classes. And who is all going to the Alumni Dinner. Alumni???? Sounds so OLD, doesn't it?
Again you all are having too much fun with this parade stuff! :)
And Curt, what is wrong with Hanoi?? It is a fantastic city. Crazy traffic (major understatement), but fantastic food, coffee, silk, the French influence and the people are so nice. And yes it is hotter than Hades most of the time - we were there in August. We cannot wait to go back. Of course we have a special tie to Hanoi/Vietnam. Why were you there?
I put this song on my blog site the other day and it brings back such wonderful memories of youth. Those were the days....
