Jeffrey Kirk Smith

Just to let everybody know, I have gone by Jeff for the past 25 yrs. and not Kirk. Thank you to all of you who have updated your profiles. I have enjoyed catching up on the lives of my old friends. I also wanted to say to those of our classmates that I may not have had much in common with at age 17, I have enjoyed reading about you and your families too. I have found that I have a great deal in common with you now. It is amazing how different and similar our paths have gone over the past 25 years. It seems that all of ou were so focused on ourselves and our careers/jobs in the first 10-15 years, but when reading the profiles the one common denominator is that relationships with spouses, friendships, and especially the lives of our children have become our top priority... as it should be. I am also glad to see that many of you still have the same crazy spirit that attracted many of us to you in school, even though we have all of the responsibilities that go with life. I have also been emotionally moved by the "memory" section on the website. It has brought back memories that I didn't know that I still had locked away in my brain. I knew Scotty Odom since we were about 10 yrs. old. I remember us riding our bikes to the carnival rides on on the safeway parking lot, and riding rides until about 11pm one night. I'll never forget Barbara Hurt's smile. My mom sent me some baseball photos when I was ~ 9 and Ronnie Deel was in one of the photos. I remember the 1st time I ever met Carin Laubach in the band room in 7th grade. I played football with both Roger Brewer and Dewanye Stafford. Gilbert Johnson was everybody's friend, as was Carl Reed. Dante Pounders was the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on when I saw her for the first time in 7th grade. I got to know her better over the next few years in Jr. High, and found that she was as kind and sweet as she was beautiful. I'll miss them all. Thanks Stephanie and Robin for all of your efforts in helping to keep us informed about our old friends. If you haven't updated your info. on your profile yet, please do it. You have old friends waiting to hear from you. Jeff

John, Damn shame about the Hawg, Sharon and I were in Little Rock after our Honeymoon in Branson and we stopped by the Hawg one night and they were having a bike night. Talk about a chance encounter, we ran into Eric Conway, Chris Smith, Keith Chumney, Mickey and Vicky( don't know Mickey's last name, I grew up with Vicky's brother Ken Huff.)and a bunch of others I knew from growing up in Little Rock. We took some pics plus one with the whole group, I will post them in my profile section soon as I can. Later

Keith....Dunno when you were there but a shame ya didnt get to see Jeff Jones on that trip...Probably one of the last times he would have been up there.....Pretty wild that I start speaking of a good friend lost and Garth Brooks comes on CMT singing "The Dance"...........

Hey Big John,
It was great catching up with you. Great bikes too. Anyone that is into motorcycles, needs to go by John's shop and see what he is doing with these bikes. All you Harley fans out there will become Suzuki fans after John shows you what he can do with a bike. You should really check out his work, no really his works of art. John, your bikes are awesome. See you at the reunion.

Hey Andy,....Dang man..thats a great commercial ya did for us...checks in the mail, lol..I appreciate the kind words, Its simply a passion which pays the bills...When you get up each morning and look forward to going to work it makes all the difference in the world...

Hey Folks....I gotta tell ya, if the 30 minutes Andy and I spent touching on the highlights of the last 25 yrs is any indication of the conversations that are to come...Ya may wanna bring a sleeping bag and some coffee,.....I can see now that well after the event is over there will be just as many stories and forgotten events told in the parking lot...Hmmmmmm kinda reminds me our years on Geyer Springs.....

Robin and Stephanie, great website! You girls are the best! Sorry, won't be able to make the reunion; didn't find out about it until TODAY when I ran into Wade Hopkins at Wal-Mart (of all the places) and he asked me if I was going. I hate it that I will have to miss this one!

Robin, how is the family? Tell them all I said hello!

Wellll Its 430am....as usual...I dont sleep much these days.....and a song comes on,..makes me smile..thinking of days gone by,,..Hope ya dont mind...but I changed the words of his song to fit my moment.......

So with all credits for "ALL SUMMER LONG"....original music and lyrics going to KIDD ROCK,,,,,here is my disclamier...and now my version..

It was 1983, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in SW Little Rock
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh Ahh

Thinking back on all my friends
Our days our nights and endless weekends
It's the simple things in life, like when and where
Man,we didnt even have internet.
But no way i can ever forget
The ladies in my life and the time we shared

[Chorus:]
And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by Horseshoe to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Raising Hell in Southwest Little Rock
Watching the cars rollin on for blocks
McClellan will forever hold a spot inside my soul
We'd blister in the sun
We couldn't wait for night to come
To hit the "SPRINGS" and play some rock and roll

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by Horseshoe to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Now nothing seems as strange as when our "Senior Year" was gone,
Or how we thought those days would never come to an end.
Sometimes I'll hear a song and I'll start to sing along
And think man I'd love to see "1983" again

[Repeat Chorus]

What a great sight, I Bet all classes wish they had a great sight like this one! Where it kinda takes you back to that time in your life, when you feel like your still there in school. This is really great, to be able to catch up with everyone. I hope to see you all at the reunion.

Hi, all. I was wondering if someone with a school annual would go to my bio ,and tell me who some of the lionettes and cheerleaders were. I know some, but can't remember which one's, were what. Also any who remember the football player's. And I also know, Gus had a firebird,I believe a '67 ,or '68. I need year. Maybe some other fast cars or truck's? This may sound unusual, but your help would be appreciated. If anyone remember's anything unusual about something that happened, other than marshmellow's ,or me and Butch Ivy having assigned seating in the Dean's office.Any help would be appreciated.
