20 lbs in 2 days...thats nothing! I've devised a rack in my garage that has taken care of my 40 lbs. I've been able to systematically "stretch" my body over the past 3 weeks so now the height-to-weight ratio appears much better. I am proud to say, as of this morning, I am now 6'8" tall...and looking svelte. lol. I too want to sing praises to Mr. Talley and all the hard work he made Lisa do...great job. Darren, I am too dumb to figure out how to select Saturdays meal...so put me down for the fish and I'll pay you when I see you. Looking forward to hearing all the horror stories and catching up.

I am with you Lisa on the weight when I mentioned to my co-workers Wednesday after coming back from a yachting trip with friends (Amy Baker one of them)that I needed to take off 15 lbs by Friday they suggested duct taping my mouth shut - not sure about the process Dave is going through but looking forward to seeing him. HA HA See you all tomorrow - anyone get into town early Shelley (Hadley) Roland and Shelly (Miller) and I going for pre-cocktails at the Country Club at 4:30. Jackie

Hey everyone, this reunion was really great. It was fun seeing those who could make it either of the past 2 days!

Lets keep the conversation going by updating your profiles from time to time, and by participating in these message forums.

Here's to the class of '78!

Thank you Darren, Lisa and those who made our reunion a great time.
It was really good to see everyone. The monticello was very fun. I had a few glasses of wine on an empty stomach so I did not feel very good the next day. Saturday night, i was a party pooper...sorry. :( Must be getting old. (older) :)
See you in 5 years!! Take care!
I love this site by the way....It will be a Nice way to keep in touch.

I too would like to thank Darren and the gang. You all did a great job! It was really nice seeing everyone on Friday and Saturday night. We've all been blessed to be a part of MM78..I think the enthusiasm and genuine caring for each other is very special..and unique. My only complaint was, who invited that creepy Huckabay character...he kept asking me which of my daughters he could date! lol Let's all at least keep in "cyber-touch."

The reunion was great! Thanks to all of you who invested time and energy to create a wonderful atmosphere for everyone else. Special thanks to Darren and Teryn for convincing me to go. MMHS's class of '78 is full of truly wonderful people! May God bless you all thoroughly!

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Darrens' wife Lisa and Teryn and all the rest for doing such an excellent job on the website and reunion. I'm sure Darren helped !!!
I would like to formally thank Lisa Copenhagen(Wachs) and Denise Grendon for encouraging me to attend the Friday function, my 1st since the 5yr.
Awesome to actually remember who I saw & spoke with.Sure wish I could have made Saturday to see Joe & Dan play, as well as those who I missed on Friday.
For those who are as shy and reserved as I am, I beg you to please start thinking about attending our next reunion, if any non-attendees have preconceived ideas of "not fitting in", I assure you that is not the case. I stayed away for several reunions, for reasons that I now see were silly.
For the record, I would like to say Glen Huckabay is a standup guy Weymo, hey at least he asked permission to date one of your daughters! I don't know how he got in there though, musta chewed through the ropes we had him tied up with!
Finally, want to thank Judy Smith(Ramsey) for not kicking me in the shins with her pointed little shoes like she did in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades,JUST KIDDING JUDY!!!(don't want to get kicked next time)
Looking forward to our next reunion, hopefully seeing more classmates next time.
Do I hear any votes for making Mr. Wiitala an honoray member of the class of 1978???

I too want to thank everyone for coming and making this reunion a truely wonderfull time, even for my wife! The time just went way too fast, but it was great to see and visit with all of you. As Jeff Wilson said many times at the dinner table Saturday night...the class of 78 is a great bunch of people. Let's all work to try to track down as many missing classmate's as we can and invite them to attend our 35th reunion. God's Blessings to all of you. (Hey Brad Smith...hope you have a different car next time...we really missed you!!!)

I too had a good time. I was surprised by how many remembered me. Although there were some that I didn't recognize (I haven't been to one of these since the 10 yr), most everyone still look the same. I appreciate that our class is so outgoing and willing to included everyone. I am trying to contact a few others to try to get them to come next time. Thanks all.

Darren, and all of the committee that planned and prepared an awesome reunion thank you!

I had a great time and enjoy reconnecting and learning about all that each of you are doing in the world today.

I have included a video at the end of this message in hope that it will touch you the way it touched me. It is about a father and son, but really it is about all of us and how we can and do make a difference in the lives of others without ever knowing it. Preception is not always reality.

Enjoy and if you do not already have my e-mail address it is tblaylock@bgcop.org.

Take care!! Tim Blaylock

I am up for free pancakes too!

I have only been to two reunions but each time I think " Man that Darren would make a great class president " I am always amazed at how we are all who we are. And that is good!

Great fun. I wish I could have talked to many more people than I did.

Lester, I've already worked up a prototype and the patent is in the works. Preliminary results look promising. My daughters are pretty pissed at me though...seems our neighbors are calling our little Chihuahua "the freak." Once I work out the bugs I'll let you know, Les.

What a awesome time.I was so scared to go and didnt know what to expect.Darren I am so blessed to have spent time with you as a child, and to know you are still my friend today. The memories we shared of our younger days playing in the school yard, riding our motorcycles are true memories to me and its nice to hear you still remember the time we shared.
Our class is so fortunate to have the leadership you have shown us.You go above and beyond. Thank you so much for keeping us all together.
Cindy and I came home and could not stop talking about all the wounderful people we just spent the weekend with.
Yes did have a little to much to drink friday night after 20 hours of work and a 5 hour drive on a empty stomach. But we did have a great time.
Teryn you are a riot,I think I missed out on alot of fun times with many people I really didnt know or understand back in school.
I am glad I was able to meet and talk to several old classmates.
Darren was so right, you think people perseve you in one way when in fact they perseve you totaly different than what you thought this whole time.
All classmates who missed this reunion you owe it to yourself to stay in touch and make the next one. It is better for your spirit and soul than you will ever know.
Thanks to Darren and all the classmates who helped make our 30 year reunion a special memory in all our hearts,we are all so lucky!!

Nice pictures on the 30 year reunion site. Keep sending in any pictures you took, it is fun to see in picture what you may have missed in person!

Thanks Darren, Lisa and everyone that put this together. We are so blessed to have such an awesome class. Corky, it's always great to see you and everyone else too.

Scott, I don't remember kicking you in grade school and of course if I did it must have been provoke..lol. I'm too sweet/too old for stuff like that now so put away your shin guards.

I didn't get to have any real conversations with some of the people that I really wanted to talk to like Waymo, Ms. Hadley, Kit Johnson, Bob Grummel either. But, love to everyone whether I got to talk to you or not.

I loved seeing Jeff Wilson again. Jeff you make me smile. I remember when we used to hang out together and I still remember when you told me about your grandma and I remember that I wanted to be just like her when I got older.

I never had him as a teacher but, I always thought of Mr. Blaine as the Mel Brooks of Mark Morris. Just encountering him the the hallways was a treat. He knew me because of my brother and that was enough for him to be my friend. I was so tickled that he showed up at the reunion.

I truely hope that more people show up next time. I'm still going to keep searching for our MIA pals.
Love to all,
Judy

Hope to see everyone again in five more years!
