I think about our time at Mark Morris and it revolves around friends, dances, and my best memories are sports related: 1) Every sport I turned out for in high school was coached by my Dad - Del Talley, 2) Our junior year beating R A Long in football, 3) Our senior year beating Kelso in football, 4) Watching our high school boys basketball team win State our senior year, and 5) Senior year winning State and setting our school record in the 440 yard relay with my brother Dean on the team (Dean Talley, John VanVessem, Corey Strand, Darren Talley).

I have to say that Mr. Blaine's chemistry class was one of my favorite memories, too. You didn't want to be late to his class, but you knew somebody would be late and that person would be the class entertainment as they had the choice of eating what Mr. Blaine called his choices of "sugar - acorbic acid, vegemite, or foam - I can't remember what this was but it made a mess as it foamed out of the person's mouth".

As I've coached over the years at many different high schools I always tell the kids I'm coaching about our dances after games, tolos, and formals. We always had live bands, and the decorations and back drops for pictures were awesome. I also, tell them about our home coming floats and how great they looked. Times have changed.
