Constance Goumas (Corcoran)

Got a call from Dave Roy last night. He is getting married on Saturday, the 26th. He and his bride say they are coming to the reunion. He didn't know about the site, so hopefully we see him log on. Add 2 to our list.

You guys are AWESOME (as my kids would say)! I hope they planned for a huge crowd, because they're going to get one!! We'll have to send out for pizza!

I just noticed we're on 37 PAGES of forum posts! That's pretty incredible...

Miss Bourque.

Technically, she was a student teacher for Samara. On the day of the food fight I was in her class. Didn't leave for the bathroom, anything. I made sure to give a great big "HELLO MS BOURQUE" when I got there.

She is married to a colleague of mine and I have had the pleasure to hear the rest of the story. Foley called her in and tried to strong-arm her into saying that I had cut her class that day. "Was Farley in your class yesterday? Are you SURE? Was he there ALL PERIOD?" etc. She was young and insecure, but she did not rat me out. I really was with the class all period and she stood her ground. Lucky me.

My, my... competitive, aren't we??!! Is there a wager involved here: who can get the most people on the "missing" list?

Favorite teachers...hmmm Tough... Mr. Collins because he was just so damned easy to torture (and yet took it so well!)...Crawf..just such a sick sense of humor...just read his signature in my yearbook last year.."Ferendo...I never DID give you credit for the homework..you'll never learn!!" Mrs. Holbrook...for giving me A's on my English lit essays and telling me she knew I had only read two chapters of a book and knew nothing about the subject, but wrote such good bullshit she had no choice.

Mr. Collins was definitely a favorite of mine; he was so wonderfully sarcastic... used to come out with the funniest comments.

My favorites were any teacher that let me get away with doing nothing. Mr. Garbadina, Mrs. McDonough. There was this one teacher I hated. Can't remember his name. I never had him for any classes but yet he knew my name and schedule... He'd see me in the halls and say...Ms. Lemay shouldn't you be in Algebra(or whatever subject I was cutting). Never did figure out how he knew or why he even cared.

Kevin ~ you are soliciting "gentle nudges" but you had to get some downright "shoves" from me just to sign up on the website!!!

I've contacted JoAnn Skeffington, but she can't make it. Bumped into Marie Robitaille this week (after 30 years we actually recognized each other)! I told her of the fun we had last Friday. She said she wasn't going to go but after our discussion she's seriously considering attending.

My favorite teacher was Mr. Menswar...his mythology class was so interesting and he really made me "think". (A difficult task in high school)!

Also loved Mr. Pappas...he's the one I credit with beginning to read the newspaper! RIP Pappy...

Would love to hear from JoAnn Skeffington, Claire Deselle and Calvin Jones. Anyone got connections with them?

Can't think of a favorite teacher beside Mr. Mirabile (?spelling). The battle between his standards are our flair for fun was never ending and memorable. Remember Glenn's blowing bubbles during an assembly concert? I recently heard a German song we did in All State Chorus on public radio which brought back fond memories. In addition, voice lessons were my alibi for the food fight. There was a rumor at one time that I had started it (what does that say about my reputation I wonder) but I had proof it was not me, thanks to chorus. Who did start it, anyways?

Honerable mention for favorite teachers goes to the Algebra teacher who used to braid her hair in two braids that she wore crossed over her head, sort of Swedish style. She had THE BEST matching dress, shoe, purse combinations EVER!

Pam - Good Luck with Maura on Thursday - I will be keeping my fingers crossed. Ann - Sorry I didn't send my response until today. Once a procrastinator always a procrastinator. I've spent the last hour reading all the posts - Sorry I missed PJ's - I believe I was in bed at 9:00 that night - Pretty pathetic.

Favorite teacher would be Mrs. Moquin as she actually was able to teach me Algebra!!! Now anyone who could teach me math of any kind is a good teacher in my mind!!

Diane-glad to hear you will be coming to the reunion! How is your Dad doing?

Again thank you for all the well wishes for my Maura's surgery on Thurs. Now that it is only 2 days away I am getting stressed about it but she is a fighting Irish girl so I believe she will come through it with fying colors!

Who did start the food fight anyway?? What about the disappearing crusader knight?? I know the whole story now but the day after it happened being naive as I was back then my "friends" got me to go to the front office to ask if they knew who stole it and how awful it was. Little did I know it was one of my friends all along!!! If you don't already know I'm not telling no matter how many drinks you buy me at the reunion!! Ha! Ha!

Mary Schunemann (Felton)

Thanks Anne for responding about the name tags!
OK, favorite teacher, are you paying attention Colette!
Mr. Labanaris (spelling?)
It's one thing to have a crush on a teacher, it's another thing to have to be in a darkroom like 6 inches from him in total darkness waiting for your film to develop! Whew! You probably never get away with shit like that today...

Mr Mirabile and Mrs Hartmann tie for my favorite teacher. In fact, Junior year, I had a dilemma: Chorus and German III were both scheduled simultaneously, and I had to choose one over the other. Apparently, I was the first singing German student in the history of MHS, according to Mr Hammond, to have to make that choice. In the end, since German III & IV were combined - only a few took German that far - I decided on German Junior year to keep consistant and then return to Chorus for Senior year. But, man, did I feel left out not participating in Chorus, I missed it so much!

Close behind Mr Mirabile and Mrs Hartmann was my history teacher whose name has left my brain just now! Gee, my elusive yearbook would come in handy about now! Leah Garlichs - who was our history teacher, senior year, I think, whose secret ambition was to host Saturday Night Live? (He revealed this during class one day when Saturday Night Live was running auditions or a contest for viewers to host the show. Anyone else remember this?) I can't even recall what kind of history he taught! American, maybe? (I know it wasn't Modern European; that was taught by Mrs. I-can't-remember-her-married-name but I knew her as Karen Grant, who was a school friend of my sister and even slept over my house back in their day, so it was weird to have her as a teacher. But I digress...) Anyway, it must have been American History 'cuz I remember discussing WWII and the Lindberg Baby Kidnapping. Anyway, I liked him, too.
