I agree with EVERYONE! All of this was way too good to lose again!! Everyone has to SWEAR they'll find a way to keep in touch!! In the electronic age, that's not such a big deal anymore... so take the pledge, people!!

Promise to always try to answer emails, phone calls, FB postings and forum postings from classmates. DISconnecting is NOT allowed now!!

Promise to reconnect any classmates that missed this reunion so we can get them to the next. The search web woven right before the reunion was amazing and should continue to track down stray friends!

Promise to keep everyone up on where you are and what you're doing - even the tough stuff! - because you never know from what quarter support and help will come. We've all been through the wringer in the past 30 years! Feel free to lean on a friend!

It is absolutely amazing how this event took on a life of its own. The committee deserves every compliment they receive for getting that ball rolling... now it's OUR job to keep it that way.

Chuck - Of course she has a heartbeat but I like to be sure from time to time! :-)

What a fun evening! To those great women that put this together you deserve a big hug from all of us. I am also willing to help with planning any events in the future. I agree that we should not wait another 10 years. To Karen & Collette, you are the first women that ever had Chuck speechless! I'm sorry I missed that but I sure did hear about it. Did anyone get a picture of the 3 of you together? Glenn, Chuck's "friend" never made it back to the table so I had to take him home. To all the women I reconnected with you are all beautiful!!!!

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

That was pretty interesting, Marie. He looked like a fish out of water with his mouth hanging open! I'm sorry you missed it!

I'd like to chime in as well that it was a great night that I'll remember for a long time. I tried but didn't succeed in personally thanking everyone who contributed their time to making the night as wonderful as it was - to all of you who spent so much time, my heartfelt thanks.

I found it great that we're at the age where it doesn't matter what choices we've made with our lives and what we are or aren't doing. Instead the focus was just enjoying each other's company.

Amen to that Mark. Great friends are always great company. I will always remember that night too.

Mary Schunemann (Felton)

I wanted to add to Mark's comment about us just enjoying each other's company...that is due in a BIG way to this website. I think because we were already somewhat informed about everyone's basic info (where they live now, what they are doing, their families, etc.) we didn't have to spend the whole time finding that stuff out. We really could just have fun!
I really hope everyone keeps up their pages and info, I have found myself checking it out regularly.
Also, I just wanted to extend to everyone that if you are ever in Marshfield, MA please look us up! We are very close to Route 3, so if you ever need a "pit stop" on the way to Cape Cod for example, give us a call! I never did get around to telling that to anyone...!

I just sobered up enough to thank Tony and Shirley Sapienza! Steve Hernandez, that scotch you broke out was the sweetest liquid to grace an irishman's lips! I don't remember clearly after the two glasses we had, but man was that stuff smoooooooooth!...the popcorn, not so good. Too salty

Scott,

Okay, so I finally made it back to Connecticut. UGH!
First, I'd like to thank the committee for a wonderful job. You are all first class in the class of 79!

Second, I'd like to thank you all for letting me crash the party. I'm so happy that I was giving crashing rights as I had the time of my life.

Carol, Melissa, Diane, Lyn, Karen, Donna, Anne, Tony....too many to name. It was so great seeing all of you. All the memories all the fun times...it seems like I never left. Too much fun.

I agree about having a 35th....we aren't getting any younger folks! I look forward to visiting again soon. I still have lots of family in NH and visit often. I hope to hook up with some of you next time I'm in town. You guys are truly the greatest.

Again - Thanks to all - and until next time - lets keep in touch. Barb

Thanks to everyone, I had a blast, see you on the flip side, back to Florida in the am, take care Nancy P.

I agree that a 35'th is in order for sure!! A cruise sounds great but for some may not be affordable and I would hate to have anyone not come because of that.

Smaller gatherings in between are definitely in order though. I hope to have a "Welcome Home Maura" party once we get home and things settle down a bit. I will keep you all posted. Today was a status quo day of continuing to try to get off of her O2 100% and wean off the medications. Slow but steady progress for sure!

Marc Lamere's wife, Ginny, came for a visit and brought me some delicious homemade food which was very much appreciated and welcomed. It was nice to visit and help make my day pass quickly.

Has anyone heard from Melissa or Laura since the reunion?? Where are you guys we miss you??!!

10/13/09 07:36 PM #1379

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

I'm with Pam. I like the get togethers we had before the reunion. Let's keep those up.

I'm glad to hear Maura is making progress. Hope she's home soon.

Is Melissa back home yet? Haven't seen her on here in a while.

Pam, glad to hear our peanut is heading in the right direction. I am back on the accursed homework grind. I agree that we need to have more mini reunions. They don't all have to be in New Hampshire either.

Remember Mini, Pam and Barb, we have a small (low frills) guest cottage in the back. (Too small for two, but perfect for one.) You’re invited. If you come West, we’ll make it worth your while. The squids will teach you to surf!

Tim and I are hoping to visit again in March. (Kevin made a great sales pitch.) Don’t worry Farley, we are hotel people and we strictly adhere to the fish and company rule. But we would love an opportunity to “syrup.” My friends, Jo & Patrice are also interested. I can vouch that they are both hard workers and fabulous cooks. Do you have room for 4 on your crew?

Marc, you might have the nicest wife ever! (And she won my “Oh, I wish I had worn that!” award for Saturday night. (Mini, you won it Friday but you and Laura were neck and neck for second place Saturday.)

Tony and Shirley, Soooooo much fun before, during (Shirley, you know of which I speak) and after the reunion. Tim and I had a ball. Thank you for including us. Would you please email me your home address.

Linda, I was sorry we didn't get to see you. Maybe at a mini reunion?

Let's space them some. I've just learned I don't recover quickly from late nights.

Karen D, I think we owe the good Catholic boy a case of Bud Light Lime. I'm not Catholic anymore; would that be an acceptable penance? Marie - we agree with Chuck; you're the best.

Laura Kohut (Douglass)

I am still smiling from the weekend. Sorry I missed Brunch but the husband had to get home to check on Venus and Apollo; I had to check on the kids!

To the organizers of the event: thank you, thank you, thank you. Great job.

Mini-reunions and cruises all sound great. Who says it has to be only one event. Take a cue from the Red Hat society (we can join soon enough!) and form a type of social club that meets on a regular basis. Rotate sites, plan outings, etc. I'll be a long distance member and offer up an invite to our annual Labor Day Weekend Pig Roast (usually have 200+ people).

Tony and Shirley, you sure know how to throw a party. The food and spirits were wonderful, the company even better.

Glenn, Melissa, Diane - what can I say. Seeing you at the same time was such a treat. I could go on and on. I'm about to upload some photos from the Apollo and the reunion onto my profile. Enjoy!

A sincere Thanks!!! to the entire organizing committee for putting together a truly memorable evening. It meant so much to spend a little time chating with so many old classmates. I enjoyed every moment and was sad to see it end. Again, a huge tribute to those who offered their time over the last several months to make this happen. Brenda and crew, feel free to make the next one mandatory!

Damn! Looks like I missed one hell of a party. Unfortunately
I ended back in CMC with "a-fib" and didn't get out till late Saturday. I was a mess. My heart rate was 190 so I was pretty much grounded. Anyway I was with you guys in spirit, and I look forward to getting together at one of the next outings. I am doing much better now on some new meds and hope to be back at work in a few weeks. Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

Bill

Carol Erlman (Phillips)

My vote is with Laura...we really should be creative and find a variety of opportunities to see each other again. If we're blessed enough to continue to have this website available, it would be an easy thing to do.

Bill....so glad to hear from you. Get well soon and join us at our next get-together.

Speaking of which...how does the first Friday or Saturday in November sound? Time to plan, yet not too close to the holiday.

By the way, that blow-up doll of Glen was incredibly realistic Saturday night, wasn't it??! (Glen, you are too much!)

I spoke to a couple of classmates on Saturday night who never noticed that there was a message forum on this website, so if you are emailing or texting classmates, would you kindly mention it to them? Thanks and make it a great day!

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

I'm in for a mini in November if it's on a weekend I have off.

Melissa, I go to Cali about once a year to visit my daughter who just recently moved from your area up north to SF. She's not liking it too much. I have a feeling she'll be back so SoCal soon. We'll have to get together on your turf sometime.

Thanks to all who posted pictures. I'm having a ball trying to figure out who people are.

This site it awesome. Keep it up.

Melissa--regarding fish and company, I love both

Colette: That would be the perfect penance in my book! Poor Chuck! Assailed by women at every turn! Luckily Marie is the best of women!

How about a progressive dinner as a get together? If anyone does not know what a progessive dinner is,it's where one house hosts a dinner course. Drinks and appetizers at the first house, soup at the second house, salad at the next house, entree at the next house, dessert at the next house. More than one family(person) can help with a course. These can be a lot of fun. This is just a thought.

Sorry to hear you ended up back in the hospital on Sat. Bill but glad you are on the mend again!

Good to hear from both of you Laura and Melissa! Was wondering where you both have been!

Maura had a good day today and required no oxygen and has weaned off of the Methadone. Tomorrow they will start weaning the Ativan and she will have a swallow evauation to see if she can start eating by mouth again or not!! If all goes well they think possibly she can be discharged a week from now!

Know this is a stretch but I am looking for a ride home on Fri. evening from Boston for the weekend. Maura's Dad is coming down to be with her and my oldest daughter needs me to come home and my sister is flying into Manchester on Sat. If anyone could help me out with this I would be grateful. My cell# 361-5210.

Thanks and I am looking forward to looking at some pictures from Sat. night next!

Donna Keenan (Grady)

Hey, Donna,

Don't know if you could help me out or not but I am looking for a ride home from Boston on Fri. early evening and didn't know if you could help me out or not. Rick is coming to be with Maura and my oldest father is going to Maine so he was hoping I could be home to be with her. Also my sister is flying into Manchester from Florida and I would like to be able to pick her up on Sat. Let me know and I would be truly indebted to you.

Thanks,
Pam

I would do this in a second but I e-mailed Pam this is the last night of my vacation..back to work tomorrow night. I told her if it was on the MHS site hopefully someone can help her out!
