Doug was a great friend. Paul and I had some great times with him. So sad. My prayers to his family

Hey Rob, I hope to make brunch on Sun. also! I may be bringing my little crusader, Maura and my oldest Emily. We'll see, you know how a 16 y.o. can be but she does enjoy brunch and Maura just goes with the flow, God Bless her!!

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. We are all much too young to be dying off but life is what it is and we have to accept it as crappy as it may be sometimes. My thought and prayers are with his family at this time.

Oh Melissa, where are you?? Need more adventures of your Tokyo trip!!! Are you back home yet? I am trying to convince my friend Stephen to go and do wine country out there with me!!! If not I will come by myself and you and Tim and Glenn and Antonia will have to indulge me!!!

Speaking of Glenn, where have you been?

Hmm seems as if many of dropped off of here since the reunion we need to rope them all back in again somehow!

Mary, I will check with a friend of mine who buys and sells cars about the Volvo you are seeking.

Does anyone know what happened with Doug? I just saw him not too long ago at the corner store and he looked ok.

I can't seem to make the 8th work, so I'll try to make the next brunch. Have a great visit, everyone, and hopefully I'll see you next time!

I wish I could make it for the 8th but lack of transportation kinda makes it hard to get there...lol...working on that though...kinda turned my whole world inside out this past month....kicked the hubby out...now I gotta get my act together again...things do happen for a reason though....smile

I'm going to be in Goffstown on Saturday for my niece's wedding, too bad I can't stay over somewhere and go to the brunch! Damn! We stayed at my Dad's the night of the reunion and that was a disaster...not an option unfortunately! I need to go to Chatham on the Cape on Sunday afternoon anyway...maybe next time! :(:(:(

Mary, I live in Goffstown you would be welcome to spend the night at my house Sat. night if you wanted. Let me know. I also checked with my friend who buys and sells cars and he knew exactly what you are looking for and sold two a month ago and has been looking for more out there with resonably low mileage but hasn't found any yet. The ones he did sell were for around $3500.00.

Unfortunately, I found out Wed. that Maura needs to remain in her spica cast for another 3 weeks so going to brunch may be tough for me now. The way I have to transport her isn't great as she has to be put into a safety vest and then strapped lying down in the back seat of my van!! Not sure I want to put her through that. Also my oldest has soccer playoffs this weekend and if they make it to the final, finals they are on Sun. which would make going to brunch also tough to fit in. If she doesn't make it to the final, finals and I have her to help me with Maura then maybe brunch will be doable for us. I will have to see what the weekend brings at this point. Sorry but you all know how our children rule our lives!!

Just came in from getting the mail... Our reunion photo arrived! Not a bad looking group, we are! We all clean up real nice! Great party! It's hard to believe 4 weeks have already gone by, and yet, the next reunion can't come quick enough, though local, mini reunions and this website shall sustain us, I think. Thanks once again to the Reunion Committee for its great collective effort in bringing our class together again.

I think Maura needs a new title. I'm thinking "Saint"!

11/06/09 10:49 PM #1554

Pam Taber

Thanks, Mary for your kind words! Yes, Maura is both a crusader and a saint. She truly remains the most happy-go-lucky child despite all of her issues. She laughs and smiles all the time. All the nurses in the hospital just fell in love with her! She really is a sweet and loving little girl.

If I don't make it to brunch on Sun. I hope all of you have a great time and hopefully I will be able to make the next one!

How about Little Saint Crusader. I will try and call you this weekend Pam.

Hi Bob,
Although we have a late night tonight, we are planning on coming up for brunch tomorrow. Sorry about the late notice! We might bring the boys, too, if they're not too cranky in the morning! Looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up.

Sunday morning brunch 10:00am at the red Blazer in Concord N.H.is almost here, if anyone else would like to come its not too late, we will always have room.

We should have somewhere between 20 to 30 people attending. Its hard to get solid numbers as there still are some people who might be able to make it.

Lets just have a great time and enjoy the food and friends.

The reservation is under my name if anyone gets there before me. Hope to see as many of our classmates and family as can attend. See you all tomorrow.

11/07/09 06:40 PM #1558

Emily's team will be playing in the Soccer Championships tomorrow so brunch is out for me! Hope they win! Have fun and I will try to make it to the next one.

I have a lot of catching up to do around my house also. Just spent the day vacuuming and dusting for the first time since Maura went into the hospital late Sept.!! Got laundry done for the week too! Tomorrow will hopefully rake the final leaves that have fallen and that will be it for the season! Dog needs a bath too and with the nice weather forcasted will be a good day to get that done so she can dry outside afterwards. Then some ironing that has piled up and then can you say wine and relaxation!!!

Joni I would say call me anytime after 3PM our time on Sun. and I should be done all of my chores by then and be able to chat with you! Sorry we haven't connected so far! Work has been crazy getting caught up on things and one of the other nurses is out now with her father who was just diagnosed with liver cancer and isn't expected to live much past Thanksgiving. My prayers are now with her and her family. It's always so tough to loose a loved one but especially when it falls around the holidays!!

Hope some of you are having a more fun weekend than I am! Next Sun. night I am going to go see "Transiberian Orchestra" at the Verizon Arena which will be fun! Who knows what else I will come up with as I will be single for the weekend next weekend with no kids!! Anyone doing anything fun?? Let me know as I am more than ready to have some fun again!

Joni, We really are planning that Napa/Sonoma class trip. As far as timing goes, Pam has to accrue some more vacation time and I want to be on holiday from school so I can focus on visiting guests. Because we live in a resort town, we get lots of company and I have San Diego party planning down to a mean science. I would have to put some class of 79 spin on it for those how bother to make the trip to San Diego. It would be wonderful if you could make it too.

I have been in catch up mode since returning to the US. I took my mid-term online while we were in Japan and (I can’t believe I am typing this) I bombed it. And not in a good way. Originally our teacher told us there would be 10 multiple guesses, four short order essay questions and one major essay chosen from a group of questions she’s already supplied to us. Easy-Peasy. However, I was not there on the day that she told the class she decided to shorten the Midterm so that we could put more time into our long essay (this was a forced-timed test.) I answered my ten guesses and only guessed on one (which was ambiguously worded and I will challenge the teacher if I got it wrong. However, if I got it right, it was brilliantly worded and I don’t know what everyone else is complaining about.) Then I answered the first short essay question using only my notes (allowed) though comprehensive, they were disjointed and not exactly in essay format. I clicked submit to advanced and was informed that I had completed the midterm. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I edited nothing. NOTHING!

I played email tag with my teacher between our flight back to the US and hers from a C.S. Lewis conference on Texas. She agreed that I could retake the midterm at first but later told me that the only thing that would stop me from getting an A in her class was an act of nuclear terrorism (How ironic was that?) I tell you this part not to brag about being so smart and all (but feel free to notice) but because I am still sort of panicked about it. There is a reason that you are supposed to go to college when you are still young enough to already possess infinite knowledge and be blasé about the whole thing.

Right now I am finishing a paper on C.S. Lewis’ “Out of the Silent Planet” using a secondary source (Tolkien’s “Fairy Stories”) to either support my claim or debate against it. Then I have five chapters of Beowulf. All of this will amuse those who were kind enough during the high school years to answer the questions, “Are you kidding me? We have a paper due today? When did she assign that? Can I borrow your notes during lunch?”

This forum has become my confessional and only break from the lash of Dr. Ordway, English 201. Now I want to know everything about the brunch. Also, Kathy and Leslie, I have been LMAO over the photo comments. I want to go on record as not minding one bit to using Mark Woods as my top. Mark Woods has always been adorable. Though I doubt Mark feels the same.

Melissa, you are too funny. I love your posts. As for the get together in San Diego, do you have an idea as to when? If possible for me I'd love to go. My daughter is there right now with some friends. She'll be heading back up north probably tomorrow. I was hoping her friends would talk her into staying. I know how much she hates Oakland. (oh well).

Pam, poor Maura. She's such a tropper. Little Saint Crusader is a perfect name for her.

Sorry I missed yet another event. I had to go to work at 5am. Sure could have used breakfast right around 10am though. Maybe next time.

An excellent breakfast this morning at the Blazer! Such a great group!! Joni, we missed you and everyone who couldn't make it... But thanks so much for calling! Everyone was happy to be able to say hi! Wish you and Rob and Melissa and Glenn and all the "far-aways" were closer! If we could only get you on FACEBOOK so you could chat occasionally...C'mon Joni! The 21st century beckons!!!

Thanks to everyone for once again embracing my family! The kids think it's hysterical how we all are with one another... Max made the comment to me that he hopes the class of '07 turns out to be as close! I thought that was pretty amazing.

Great brunch today at the Red Blazer. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the brunch. Good food,Great friends equals wonderful time.

I just posted pictures of the brunch to my profile if anyone would like to see who attended. You will have to scroll for a while as the pictures are piling up from all the events.

Thanks Joni, the phone call was great. Everyone thought that was so thoughtful of you to call and speak with all us. I know you were with us spiritually, just not physically. Thanks so much!!!

We will definitely stay in touch and plan something again in the future.

Again, thanks to all for a wonderful day.
