Debbie and Donna - my heart breaks for you. It's always hardest to loose someone you love at the holidays. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.

Debbie and Donna,

My heart breaks for you. It is so hard to lose a parent. I lost my Dad in February, and it has been so hard for all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Debbie and Donna- I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. There is never a good time to loose a loved one but when it happens close to the holidays it is always a little bit tougher. Just remember she will live on through you and your children and granchildren and that she will never be gone as long as you continue to remember her in your heart and mind. May God Bless you and your families at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Donna wanted to give you a hug when I saw you yesterday but didn't know if it was a good idea or not seeing you were working!! Thank you for coming out and saying "Hi" to me and Maura!

Debbie and Donna,

So sorry to read of your mother's passing. This is very difficult to accept. We are at the point in our life when we are beginning to realize that we are not getting younger and neither are our parents. Hold on to those precious memories and lessons she taught you. You will continue to remain in my prayers. Jan Beauparlant

Ok..Turkey day is done..should we plan on a get together on 12/12? Sounds like a good date. I will not go back to the Derryfield..hate that place. PJ's is my vote..free parking and easy to talk.

Let's start planning.

Good call Donna. I'm actually off that weekend. Sounds good to me.

It looks like most people are leaning toward Saturday, December 12th for our holiday gathering.

A few people have mentioned the Olive Garden or The Backroom for dinner, also. Those of you who plan on attending, please chime in so we can decide where we're going and get an accurate count.

Looking forward to it!

Saturday night at the Olive Garden or Back Room would be great..but do they take reservations? Saturday nights are tough at both restaurants.

don't know about the back room....but the olive garden does not take reservations...

Most places don't take reservations, although some have "call ahead" seating. In any event, most managers will be accommodating if they're called ahead of time to be given a "heads up" that a large party is coming.

If we have a wait, so be it...that's what the bar is for...more time to mingle! :)

I like both "The Backroom" and "The Olive Garden" so either one works for me!! The 12'th is perfect as I don't have my girls that weekend so I am free to go whenever!! Will mark my calendar right now!!

I just like a place you can pick up your drink and walk around to see different people. Hard to do if you are at a table at a restaurant.

The Olive Garden or the backroom sounds good to me, and the 12th is ok also.

I'll have to pass on this gathering, too! :( I hope to be able to make one of these some time soon!

We're going up north that weekend to the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH, riding the Polar Express to the 'North Pole' with Isaac that Friday night and then visiting Santa's Village in Jefferson on Saturday.

We did this last year, too, except that we caught the Polar Express from Conway. We drove up in a blizzard and drove home in a blizzard - a bit nerve-wracking - but it was such a beautiful winter wonderland while we were there! I think this year, though, will be more of a wet wonderland.

I'm in for Dec. 12th. Either restaurant is fine with me. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Haven't been on the forum lately...Debbie/Donna, so sorry for your loss. She is in a better place for sure!

The 12th sounds like fun. It's my Birthday. I will have to drink my last drink in the 40 year old category.

Debbie and Donna, my sympathy for your loss. Losing your mom is very difficult. Know we are thinking of you and our prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.

Cathy

So sorry to hear about your mom, Donna and Debbie. My heart goes out to your family... I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you.

Regarding the 12th, I'm not sure if we can make it... this is an awfully busy month! To put my two cents in, I'd be concerned with any restaurant this month because of Christmas parties! I've had to try to book small and medium-size groups for gatherings the past few years and call aheads don't hold much water with a lot of places in December... we switched to a January Xmas party because it got so darn hard!

If I don't see you, happy birthday Cathy!! Another December-birthday compatriot! Party on!

Yay, a party I can go to. I'm off that weekend. Don't care where I go. Just let me know and I'm there.

Hi all...can you believe it's December already?

After making several calls to area restaurants, The Olive Garden seems to be the most willing to accommodate a large group on a Saturday night and will put enough tables together so that we're all sitting together. There may be a wait, but I'm more than willing to get there early to put our name on the list. (Nobody seems to take reservations anymore and even the banquet rooms at The Backroom were booked long ago.) In addition, The Backroom wouldn't even go as far as to say they would try to put all of us together, which surprised me. I've been there many times with large parties and they've always been very accommodating in the past.

Therefore, let's plan on:
The Olive Garden; S. Willow St; Manchester
Saturday, December 12th
6:00 pm

If you plan to attend and haven't put your name in yet, PLEASE let me know so we have an accurate count.

Thanks!
