Hey! Does anyone know Thomas Healy who graduated from MMHS in 1978?

12/03/09 06:25 PM #1745

Pam Taber

Melissa my love where have you been?? Thomas Healy sounds familiar but can't picture him for the life of me!! Why what's up?

12/03/09 06:38 PM #1746

Melissa Turner

I'm looking to fix him up and I need a visual. To all my single MMHS girlfriends, you've been warned. I'm on the warpath.

By the way, I'm missing you all very much!

Carol, my wife and I will be there on the 12th. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I'm finally getting over this cold/flu. It's been a long 3 weeks and I should be ready for a night out.

Good Luck to Joe on his surgery today. Is it wrong to say break a leg?

Donna and Debbie,

My sympathies on the passing of your Mother. I lost my mom a year and a half ago to cancer. While deeply saddend by her loss, it was also a blessing. Cancer can be such a hard journey. I too am comforted that my mom is at peace and no longer suffering.

God bless

Shawn Murray

Count me in for the Olive Garden on the 12th. I'll try to drag my husband with me but that's iffy.

I am missing the company of this forum. If you haven't noticed, we've run out of stuff to say. Is the honeymoon over? I would like to submit a radical idea.

The frame work would be similar to a book club. I would suggest a book club but with school, my bookplate (that’s a pun for you, Kevin Farley.) is full. Perhaps we might limit it to movies, TV shows, or even trying different wines (a casual observer would note that this forum gets plenty of postings when the subject is wine. I’m just saying.) Any mutual event would do. We could even rotate. Then we would all log on and discuss our experience.

I know, I know. Too geeky for words. (but that’s how I role) I’ll admit it…I’m completely jealous of the local get-togethers. Until we return to NH sometime in March, this will be the closest I can get. Who’s in? Don’t leave a sister hanging…

One final thought...A virtual wine tasting would be hilarious. We'd all start out sober and by the end of the "conversation" we'd be a drunk as lords. The good news is that we would all be in the safety of our homes.
Who knows? We might even start a trend. DWI's would be a thing of the past. MADD would probably give our class an award. And then a Peace Prize would soon follow (We’d use it to fund our 35th Reunion Cruise.) We’d be LEGENDS.

I dunno, Melissa. We had a pretty good roll going on the topic of favorite tv shows from our childhood. And a few Star Wars geeks (myself included) lifted their heads and made themselves known. But, yes, we could use a topic boost.

I'm liking the virtual "wine-tasting" idea, although I'd branch it out to other beverages - for those of us who may prefer, say, scotch! ...or even tea, for that matter! We can share our findings with the rest of the class, i.e. which entree - or perhaps, cigar - pairs well... Very convenient, too. As you pointed out, at the end of the evening, we only need to stumble a few steps off to the safety of our beds/couch/bathroom floor.

:-D

Missy , you cracke me up.I like the virtual wine tasting great idea.I think it is a parents right to embarass your 10 year old at his birthday party by singing Annie songs as loud as you can. He Did not think so . It sure was fun thought.

Debbie and Donna,I am so sorry for your loss . I lost my step mom ,of 30 years, last Thanks Giving.I know how hard it is .My thoughts are with you .

I do not know why things happen over the holiday
or does it just hit us harder. But my mother in law was just diagnosed with lung and liver cancer.

I want to know who posted john doe? I am waiting.

Speaking of scotch, I had an excellent time drinking in the parking lot. ABSOLUT BLAST. Karen Steve ect.

Hope you have a great time at the Olive Garden..anyone who wants to meet at PJ's let me know.

Melissa, I defintely like the virtual wine drinking idea or anything else for that matter! I agree there has been less activity on this sight lately for sure. Maybe everyone is just so busy with the holidays that this has taken a back seat for now.

Donna, come on to the "Olive Garden" with us for dinner and then we can always go to "PJ's" later! No one said we have to stay in the same place all night!

I'm going to try to make it on the 12th. It is my father's 78th birthday and we will be celebrating it with the family. However, being that everyone in my family is either older than I or has young children who need to go home early, I am available to party after the party. I'll keep phone #'s on hand to contact someone if I can make it!

Laura Kohut (Douglass)

Melissa, you always were brilliant in a wonderfully twisted way! I think we should set an "live chat" date so we who are not able to go to the gatherings can gather online! And yes, with drinks in hand. We could even have dinner together!

On a more somber note, please take a moment to reflect on the history associated with today. On our class trip we went to Hawaii, and although it was a blast (right, Donna?) one of the things that impressed me the most was our boat tour of Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona memorial, where 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941, along with another 1,226 people. I always call my dad on this day, as it was a defining moment in his life as September 11th has become to so many of us.

Here, here Laura! To Pearl Harbor Day and to the Greatest Generation who were there.
You are a patriot for bringing it up, truly.

Donna Knowles (Leduc)

(raises my virtual glass)....i agree with you Laura....it was a blast and at the same time we learned some history...

my heart and thoughts go out to those of you that have family....loved ones....friends......or even just someone you know....serving our country at any time......but more so during tthe holidays....i do appreciate the sacrafice.....the ones being made now and the ones made in the past....may they stay safe....

on another note...moving into my mom's on Christmasw Eve......now that's some present.....i'm hoping to make some of the gatherings once i'm settled in.....

since i'm not sure when i'll be checking the forum again.......I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year..... (cyber) hugsssssssss

Donna

I can make the 12th. My Daughter, Emily and husband are going to Reno, NV. She is going to Nationals for X-Country this weekend. She should be just finishing her race around 6:00pm our time. Good reason to celebrate.

12/08/09 04:45 PM #1762

Pam Taber

Laura, Melissa and all of you who are too far away to gather with us over the holidays, I think you should definitely congregate on here and eat, drink and be merry!!! Then when we get home we can fill you in on our gatherings and read all about yours!!

Donna, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

Pearl Harbor Day should always be remembered! I know I will always remember it for two reasons, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the lives lost of many of our brave men and women and in memory of my Dad who's birthday was on Dec. 7'th who also served in the armed forces! God Bless them all!

Looking forward to seeing the rest of you on Sat. night!

Thanks for the rememberance Laura, I agree. My Father in law turned 18 Dec 6 and enlisted in the Navy Dec 7th of that year. He was extremely brave. His sub got hit in the South Pacific and he to this day refuses to talk about it!

It's really great that everyone makes an effort to support our troops. My son isn't even in a war zone, but he is away for Christmas. The first one we won't spend together as a family. But do you know what just happened? God bless small town living...the tiny post office down the street just called me and asked if I would like them to send something to Doug in Kuwait for Christmas!
She did ask me about this last time I shipped him a package from there, but I never expected her to follow up like this. The world really is full of good people.
Just a note to everyone who is having a tough time right now for one reason or another, I think you'll agree the support on this forum is really outstanding. We simply are a part of each other and always will be. So cool!

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

I love to hear people supporting our troops. I was just driving on the highway and the roads are still pretty bad from all the snow. There was a car that spun out and the driver wearing his fatiques was on the phone while a passerbyer (is that even a word?) was shoveling him out of the ditch he was in. I'd like to think that because he was military someone decided it would be nice to do something for him. Yeah!

Olive Garden Saturday night sounds good to me.

Melissa,
A "cyber" wine tasting event or something similar sounds great. It would give those of us who are not able to attend the local functions a chance to gather online, great idea. A dinner is is a great idea also. Maybe we could combine the two. Picture this wine, beer, actually any alcoholcic beverage of choice. Good food, old friends everyone cyber-drunk. Do I see a cyber food fight in our future LOL.

Debra,

My famliy and I offer you our sympathies on the passing of your Mother. Cancer is a terrible disease. My thoughts are with you .
