My memories of Darlene,go back to Lincoln Heights
I was a cross walker,and i would walk the kindergartener's
home at 11:00 and then i would stop at quick check and buy
candy for her,and for who ever else.Darlene was a very kind person.

At one time during my married life, I lived by Darlenes dad. I talked with Darlene several times regarding her illness and how she coped. She was a brave girl and encouraged me to go to nursing school. Thanks Darlene for giving me that push.

Dar was my best friend from elementary school on. Even though I lived out in the boondocks off Windsor road every day we would walk from the junior high to her house by Conleys, stopping at Big Bear, Burger Chef, Hillside Pharmacy, Bucks, Foodtown and any and all places in between to look at makeup, teen mags (Tigerbeat!!) etc.
A lot of you dont know that Darlene went blind in 1981. She was in a diabetic coma for about a week. In spite of that she still wanted to live as normal a life as possible. We did a lot of things together, shopping, double dating, barhopping, where of course I was always the designated driver Ha Ha. I lost a great friend, but I have a ton of memories of good times and good friends. So if anybody learned anything from Dar, it was dont stop living, just cause your life isnt perfect.
