Donald Joe Plummer passed on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at IU Health
Bloomington. I gasped when I read those words in the Reporter today. I was
aware that Don had been in failing health but had no idea what or how
serious his issues were.
Don was a very private person and wouldn't want this to be known because of
his humility. However, I would be remiss if I didn't share that over the
years Don has quietly contributed $700 to our snail mail fund. I insisted
he wouldn't live long enough to use that amount in stamps, but he sent a
short note stating he was paying for those who couldn't. I have begged him
to come to a reunion or at least allow some of us to visit him in is home,
but that wasn't his style.
I do remember him as shy and quiet but with a sweet smile. Wish he would
have shared more of himself with us these past few years. Anyway, obituary
says he is survived by a brother, Robert, of Martinsville and three sisters.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. So typical
of Don! God rest his soul.
Hugs to all.

Rest in peace Don--you will definitely be missed.

I remember "Don" as "Joe" Plummer. We were classmates at Green Township Grade School. In those days, GTS, was first through eighth grade. Joe, was tall and played basketball at GTS. He was funny, yet quiet and shy. I hope you had a wonderful life Joe.
