Obituary for Ilene Terrell

Ilene Terrell, 72, a lifelong resident of Martinsville, passed from this life after an extended illness at 11:05 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Grandview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. Ilene was one of three children born to the late Raymond and Ruth (Lewis) Suter. She was born on Tuesday, April 4, 1944 in Martinsville, Indiana.
She attended Martinsville High School and was of the Methodist faith. On August 15, 1964, Ilene married Donald Eugene “Woodie” Terrell; he preceded her in death on March 22, 2009.
Ilene worked at the former Kennedy Living Center in Martinsville during the 1980’s as a housekeeper. In 1998, she gained employment at the Morgan County Jail as a Jail Officer, working until her health diminished in 2002. During her younger years, Ilene absolutely loved to walk the woods and hunt mushrooms and ginseng. She also took great pleasure in crocheting.  
She will be missed by her loving family and many dear friends including her three sons, Herb (wife, Dianna) Cook, Raymond (fiancé, Lisa Wycoff) Cook and Woodie (wife, Lori) Terrell all of Martinsville; daughter, Jackie (husband, Jeff) Fink of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Jenny (husband, Joe) Thacker of Martinsville; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Ione Thacker.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, April 1st from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband in New South Park Cemetery following a graveside service on Sunday, April 2nd beginning at 2:00 pm.
