How did you get started in Barbershop?

A long time ago in a place far, far away...
I started in 1990 at the urging of my friend Dave Rhoads. My first chorus sing was on a cold Tuesday evening in February at one of the community rooms in the Fairbanks Athletic Club,.... Fairbanks, Alaska.

Name of Quartet(s) You Sang In (Past Or Present With Years If Known)

In the Spring of 1990, I was invited to 'tryout' for lead in an existing quartet. I did and they must have thought I was decent enough to give it a go, so I became the lead for our quartet, aptly named Four Below. I was with the quartet for approximately 2 years.

Your Favorite Song To Sing (and why if there is a story)

I forgot the exact name of it, but our quartet used to sing it and I absolutely loved it - maybe somebody reading this could help me - I've tried plugging in the lyrics to no avail.... it starts..

"Hello is so happy, goodbye so sad, why must it end that way.....

So why not say goodbye the way we said hello, say it with a smile and not a tear...why can't we be friends, happy till the end..."
