How did you get started in Barbershop?

My dad worked with Carl Missele, the baritone of the 1976 Illinois District Quartet Champions, the Valley Four-gers. Carl talked Dad into buying tickets to the Elgin, Illinois chapter's annual show, which featured Carl's quartet -- plus international contest qualifiers the Formalities, and Grandma's Boys, who went on to win the international championship in 1977.

I was hooked.

I joined the Elgin chorus in 1978 as a high school junior and have been singing in the society for most of the last 30+ years.
