After 60 plus years it's time to fess up. Another classmate and I delivered an outhouse to the front of auditorium the late evening before our Junior Class assembly. The outhouse was a relic from one of an abandoned farmstead a mile from my home. We loaded it onto the farm pickup and did some painted slogans to throw off the powers that be. We made it look like the seniors did it. In those days the township road went through the refinery and we approach town on east avenue A. As luck would have it a train required us to wait on the crossing. A car came up behind us and i was sure the jig was up. I drove real slow and it went around us. We went down hartup street and drove over the curb and unloaded. I pealed out and the spare tire for the truck bounced out. I had to go back for it. When we came in early for final rehearsal for the skit, Jack Randle was there and made us carry it around to the back of the school, near the shop door to the ag shop. The custodial shop spent part of the day dismantling and burning it. My father never caught on and about a year later he remarked that he would have given it to anybody that asked. He thought it was converted to a duck blind. I eventually admitted that I knew what had happened to it.
