School Story:
As I attended McPherson High School for only my senior year, I did not have much time to build memories or be part of any stories. Also, growing up in the virtual monastery of Moundridge, Kansas, there was a great deal of apprehension about my coming to the decadency of McPherson. Then I met my new neighbor, "The Right Reverend" Ed Nelson who looked after my spiritual needs.
Then there was my interest in music, "Classical" and philosophy. The guideance and inspiration I received from the likes of Tom Goranson, Benny Watson, Ray Locke, Gary "Cheese Beer" and others would provide me with the special understanding that was absolutely worthless in later life, but was a lot of fun acquiring.
Then there was the time when a certain future teacher in the McPherson Schools, his initials are A. B., would have the faith and confidence that his Volkswagen beetle would truly float in the Kanopolis Reservoir. Unfortunately, most of that faith and confidence was based on a keg of beer and, as I understand it, some Jack Daniels. It did not float, but the effort was memorable.
To all of my classmates at McPherson High School, "Thanks for the memories. They were Great!"
