We are now 60 years older and many memories are under our belts and in our minds.  Time is passing quickly and this celebration is going to be one we don’t want to miss!

Our schedule to date is:

Arrival - Friday, November 3, 2017 (Check in time is 4:00 p.m.)

Meet and greet Reception in St. Croix 2 Room on first floor for hospitality with snacks and from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. We will have a cash bar available.  There will be tables and chairs set up all the time in this room as it is reserved for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Dinner tonight is on your own or with friends…

Meet in Hotel lobby at 10:30 a.m. to go to the UNIVERSAL CITY WALK - Village as a in group using the free water taxi for a casual “Dutch” treat lunch. Water Taxi leaves every 20 minutes and accommodates walkers and wheel chairs. Return to hotel around 3:00 p.m. for quick NAP, or when you wish.  Or, come to the hospitality room and share old stories!!!!

Dinner under the pavilion with BBQ and all the fixings and drinks going on from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  We have made dinner arrangements for 50 attendees. This is funded from funds left over from our 50th Reunion.  The first fifty are free, after that, dinner charges will apply.

The Hospitality Room will be opened from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. We will be serving coffee, tea, and rolls.

Our hotel is the Lowes Sapphire Resort located on the grounds of Universal Studios and has benefits such as: Early Park Admission^† to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, one hour before the theme park opens (valid theme park admission required).  Complimentary shuttle buses, water taxis, and walking paths to both Universal Orlando™ theme parks and Universal CityWalk™.  Lowes Sapphire Resort is a Caribbean style resort with lots of gardens, swimming pools and is located on the water for all to use the free water taxis to go to Universal CityWalk™.  Our rate will be honored 3 days before and 3 days after our event based on availability.  If you are a member of Triple A, they sell discounted park tickets.

For those of you arriving by air and need transportation, after you have your luggage, proceed to the “Ground Transportation” area and ask for a MEARS Shuttle. The cost is $21.00 for a one-way trip or $33.00 for a round trip per person.  If you are driving to the hotel the parking rates are $29.00 valet per day and $22.00 self-parking per day. If you are staying elsewhere and driving to the hotel for the day, the costs are $17.00 valet and $10.00 self-park. Costs for hotel rooms at Lowes Sapphire Resort are:

ROOM BLOCK RELEASE DATE

The Hotel has established a “Room Block Release Date” of Wednesday, October 4, 2017, for Group reservations.  After this date, all rooms not guaranteed by deposit, credit card or the Master Account will be released to Loews Reservations for general sale. All ‘no show’ reservations will be billed to each individual’s credit card. The cancellation of guaranteed reservations must be received five (5) days prior to arrival in order to avoid a charge equal to one night’s room and applicable taxes. We have reserved 25 rooms which can be increased up til October 4^th at the same rate. After that date, the hotel will try to place you in another hotel such as the Cabana Bay located next door.  

ROOM RESERVATION PROCEDURES FOR LOWES SAPPHIRE RESORT: You must make your reservations by phone.  Please identify yourself as part of the Miami Jackson 60th High School Reunion GASEB31 when making your reservation through Loews SAPPHIRE RESORT Reservations Center, 866-360-7395 (press 5) or faxing 407-503-9208. Must be made by October 4th to get this room rate.

A deposit equal to one (1) night’s stay is required and will be charged for each individual’s reservation that is made on their own.  Such deposit shall serve to confirm the reservation for the date(s) indicated, and, shall be applied to the last night of the reserved stay.  A personal check (subject to collection), money order or a valid major credit card and expiration date are acceptable.  Should a guest cancel a reservation, the deposit is refundable if notice is received at least five (5) days prior to arrival, and a cancellation number is obtained.  However, the Group is subject to the terms herein concerning guarantees, deposits, room block attrition and cancellation in this Group Booking Contract.  All prepaid reservations will be held until 6 am EST the following day.

Upgraded rooms may be offered at the time of reservation for an additional fee. The cancellation of guaranteed reservations must be received 5 days prior to arrival to avoid a charge of one night’s room and tax.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIME

Check‑in time for all attendees is 4:00 pm. Attendees may be checked in earlier depending on occupancy levels and availability of "ready" rooms.  In order to streamline the check-in process, the Hotel would appreciate receiving flight arrival times for attendees, if available.  Checkout time is 11:00 am. If you are flying into Orlando, be sure to go to Ground Transportation and ask for Mears Shuttle for the best rates.  Taxis are $45-$60 each way but Mears is $21 one-way and $35 round-trip.
