I attended BYU and met and married my husband in June of 1971. We lived in Portland, Oregon for three years where he graduated from University of Oregon Dental School in 1974. We lived in Las Vegas for two years after that while he served in the Air Force and then made our home in La Grande, Oregon for 39 years where we raised our five children. I went back to school and graduated with a degree in English in 2000 and worked part-time at our high school as the Career Center Coordinator. It was weird to suddenly be paid for something I had volunteered at for over ten years, but it was very rewarding helping students figure out life after high school. We are now retired and live in St. George.
School Story:

One of my favorite school memories was our junior year when our basketball team took state. I think we beat East or Highland. My friends and I rode the rooter bus, and as we got on the bus, feeling so excited and proud to be Huskies, some of the opposing team came by and said some rather unkind things. Of course, someone from our bus said something equally rude back from the security of the bus. Their side began to rock the bus--pushing it back and forth!
We were so relieved when the bus driver showed up and got rid of them! I realized at that moment how important sportsmanship is, whether you win or lose.

We just had a get together for our old neighborhood in late August.  Diane was able to come and she seemed so good.  Laughing, smiling her beautiful smile, talking about her family and the fun summer they had had.  She commented on how good she felt.  This really has hit all of us hard.  So sad for her family--she was a dear soul!

I could not make the change for where we reside, but we have now moved to St. George and love it! The weather is better for my asthma and we love all the outdoor activities. Give us a call if you come to or through town!

Thanks so much for sharing Dan. I appreciated chatting with you at the reunion and all the hard work so many put in to making such a wonderful evening. I agree with you that those who weren't there really missed out and we missed seeing them. I am so proud and grateful to be a part of the Class of 1969. Go Huskies for 10 more good years until we meet again!

Hi Judy, it was wonderful to hear about you. I have fond memories of our days together at school. I am so glad you were a teacher as I am sure you were a good one! And I am sorry to hear about your MS but here's hoping it stays under control! Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.

I can't remember the class for sure, but I think it was a science class, and I just remember how smart I thought Steve was, and so very patient to try to explain concepts to a non-science oriented person!  Steve, you will be missed!  And Marilyn, my sincere condolences.
