I wrote this message to Lori Wood Montague, John's daughter:  

Oh Lori, You have lost your father John and you must be broken hearted with grief. It is really tough losing a beloved parent.

Your father and I had some interesting connections. 

He and I were classmates at Montclair High School, and I spent a lovely time reminiscing with him at our last class reunion luncheon a couple of years ago, which your family catered.

When your Dad sold his house on Grove Street, he sold it to my dearest friend, Patti (Patricia) Niland, also an MHS classmate.

And most cherished of all, your father’s aunt, Naomi Booker Brandon is the daughter of Mary Reese Booker Goodman, who worked for my family (Karl and Barbara Helfrich, myself and my younger brother Charlie) for many years when I was growing up. 

Mary worked for us on Thursdays and Fridays and always had time for my brother and me, often acting as caregiver for us if my Mom had to go out. She had a boyfriend Joe who worked along with her when she catered our Thanksgiving dinner. And she frequently told me about her daughter Naomi.

Your Dad and I enjoyed talking together about these things at our reunion luncheon.

I shall miss him indeed ??

Thinking of you on your birthday Andy, and wishing you great amounts of love, health and happiness! I continue to remember your father-in-law with great admiration. He was our family doctor for many years.

Happy Birthday to you, Mary! Hope your celebration was magical and marvelous! Wishing you and Don full measure of health, love and happiness now and in all the days to come.

Happy Birthday to you, Wyman, hope you enjoyed a special day! Did you see Grange? You and she are two very special people! Wishing you a full measure of health, happiness, singing,?? love and laughter, all the wonderful things in life!

I am devastated to learn this sad news ?? Carolina was such a creative, talented and outgoing person. From the very beginning she dared to be different, and I always admired that about her. The world is lesser without her in it.

Interesting, intriguing to read about your life, you have accomplished many wonderful things! Thanks for posting and keeping us up to date. Wish you good health and happiness going forward.

Happy Birthday to you, Bob, wishing you health, love, happiness, all the good things, and hope that life is treating you well!
I see you are wintering in Venice, FL. I have friends who also winter there, Peter O’Malley and Carol Ciancia. They are active in community theater and are currently appearing in Kiss Me Kate, at the Manatee theater. If you go to the show, go backstage afterwards and meet up with them.

I am so sad to learn that we have lost Minnie.
She and I had been classmates all the way from Kindergarten through graduation at Montclair High School.
My brother Charlie and I grew up on Edgecliff Road, just up the hill from her, Tom, Beth and Jack.
She did me a great favor in life, it was because of her that, as a young girl, I never started smoking cigarettes. 
She was truly beautiful in many ways, and will be greatly missed.
