Terry Sweeney (1968)
The following responses from the Vikings from the other site that will be closing down and I felt thay were of worthy note to show pride in the school, other Vikings & Vikingettes, and the need to reconnect in these times when its a good outlet to remeber where we came from in those turbulent times of the "60's & 70's."
Dec 20, 2008 18:04PM Wayne White wrwviper143@hotmail.com Wow!~ Great idea. Have a photo from Iraq to post. How does one do that? Wayne WarEagle!
Wed 12/24/2008 9:39 PM Christine Clark-Depew (forangelina@hotmail.com) This is such a great idea Terry and I thank you for taking the time and effort to put it together. I forgot it wasn't a "live site" yet and tried to add my information so I hope that didn't screw up anything. I hope you get some other graduates besides just the class of 68! Thanks for making this happen...you DA MAN! Christy
Fri 12/26/2008 7:27 PM Pam Wilkens-Dopf' bdlalm@aol.com Looks really nice and very helpful. Alpha by last name would be helpful. Thank you for doing a very time consuming and important task. I'll have to get with you and change our signature card for the bank account. Pam
Wed 12/31/2008 10:03 PM Eric J eric_csuf@hotmail.com The page looks great. It will be a useful resource for alumni. I think Kathy (Jorganson) would appreciate the remembrance on the Lest We Forget page. Keep up the great work, Terry. Everyone wants to enjoy the reunions, but nobody wants to take the time to organize them as you do. Just know that the efforts are appreciated even if most of alumni have no idea how much time and effort you actually put into them. I graduated in 59 from a Massachusetts HS. Your counterpart there was an absolutely tireless woman. She passed away early this year so not sure what is going to happen to the 59th reunion that was planned for this coming summer. i was planning on riding the bike back for it, but may not if there is no reunion. Eric http://ke6us.smugmug.com

Best, Jennifer

Mon 1/12/2009 10:12 AM Bill Roe diamondroe@hotmail.com It looks great I am looking forward to this event in march I give you permission to let my e-mail go out anyone who wants it. Thanks Bill
Mon 1/12/2009 2:17 PM Rich Kimmie rbkimmie@earthlink.net I was reviewing your website (again) and noticed that you featured Marvin Miller on the "Lest We Forget" page. I went back to Washington D.C. a little over a year ago and one of the things on my list to while in D.C. was to stop by the Vietnam Memorial and pay my respects to Marvin. Both of us were school photographers for the Annual - so I knew Marvin quite well. Marvin was the first friend I lost - and dealing with his death (especially since he was killed in action) was very difficult for me. Visiting the wall is really an amazing event. Lots of vets visiting the wall - still need to talk about their experience. I think a lot of healing takes place there. I've attached a picture of Marvin's name on the wall. Thanks for dedicating a page to those that have moved on, Rich
Wed 1/14/2009 10:18 PM Angela Hernquist ahernquist@live.com Many, many thanks ~~~~ for showing honor to Jim and the others on the website Angela
Jan 15, 2009 23:43 PM Christine Clark-Depew (forangelina@hotmail.com) Lookin' good Terry! I love the cartoon Viking with the big mouth at the bottom of the list on left. Anyway, I think you are doing a fantastic job so your Irish eyes should be smiling! XOXO Christy
Sat 1/17/2009 4:50 PM Jackie (Barbee) Keesling jkkeesling@aol.com Just to let you know, the classes of 70-75 have had two reunions, one in 2002 and one in 2007. I was the one who was in charge of them, so I really don't think many of those people would be real interested in attending a reunion so soon again. We had an attendance of approx. 225 in 2002 and about 200 in 2007. You can get more information and pictures on classmates from these two reunions. If I can be of any help with information let me know and I'll see what I can do. Jackie
Sun 1/ 18/2009 14:11PM Jeannie (Smith) Willits meanjean99@aol.com Great Web Page, Jeannie
Jan 24, 2009 at 13:00PM Kathy (Edmiston) Knox lrkkn@verizon.net GREAT JOB TERRY!! Thanks for taking on the task of trying to keep all of us Old Vikings in touch. I actually got out my old annuals to reminiscence and it only made me disappointed that I won't be able to attend the reunion in March. Sorry I don't have contact info to pass on to you Terry. All the people I know you already have on your list, but I hope the word gets out and many more people are added. Again Great Job, and thank you for your time and effort! Kathy
Jan 27, 2009 19:46:PM Tony Metcalf (ametcalf@csusb.edu) Wow, nice work. Thanks! Tony Metcalf
Jan 28, 2009 12:57 PM Kathy (Hammonds) Larsen (larsenp001@hawaii.rr.com) Aloha, I would be interested in attending a reunion but I work at a private school in Hawaii and am tied to the school and summer school schedule. I am in California every August to visit my daughters in San Francisco and Huntington Beach. Will there be anything around that time? Mahalo, Kathy
Jan 28, 2009 12:26 PM Doug Parisek (Doug.Parisek@Bull.com) Thanks for the pictures. I looked and easily placed myself in each one - with many memories. I see they finally filled in the "M" on the mountain. For years only the outline was painted. Also, it's too bad they have to have fences around the schools nowadays. Doug
Jan 28, 2009 4:53 PM Valerie (Voorhis) Finney (val_alert@yahoo.com) Ah, visions of my youth. I'm interested, but currently am working on Kwajalein Atoll. Please keep me updated. Valerie
Jan 28, 2009 5:48 PM Libby (Miller) Sustachek (totalhealth@adelphia.net) Let's keep it simple, and just have a good time together- no big dinner- not a lot of dressing up- not a lot of money. Thanks Libby Jan 28, 2009 6:48 PM Callie (Reed) Main (calliemain@gmail.com) Libby and I have been writing at work, so I kind of know what is going on. Thanks for staying in touch - you do a better job of this than I do, for sure! Callie
Jan 28, 2009 6:51 PM Colleen (Johnson) White (cwhite307@hotmail.com) We appreciate all the work you've done on the website. Colleen
Jan 28, 2009 7:58 PM Joni (Joan Schooler) Bailey (jonibrian@msn.com) Thanks for including the class of 1969 also. I thoroughly enjoyed the reunion last year here in Denver. Everybody made my new husband feel at home too. I don't know if we can get to Calif. this year. But I'd like to know about your plans. This would be our 40 year reunion! Wow how time flies. It doesn't feel like more than 1/2 of my life ago. Have a great spring. I would love for you to publish my e-mail address to any of the MVHS alumni. I lost contact with Linda Shepherd. Her e-mail address didn't work anymore last time I tried. Joni
Jan 29, 2009 3:02 AM Piermario Corino (piercorino@hotmail.it ) I read that the reunion is going to happen in March and I am really sorry but I cannot come this time. I don't need to come over to know I look much better than the others of class of 68.Still have all my hair on and they are still black. Ha Ha Ha. But I really miss the Vikings football games. Ciao Pier Ringo
Jan 29, 2009 5:23 AM Chris Beckham (cbeckham21@wavecable.com ) I was only called to Mendiola’s office one time. OK, maybe two. You have done a great job with the website. We won’t discuss your ability to select an appropriate time of year to hold reunions. Thanks for all your hard work and devotion to making the reunions happen. I hope to again attend one. Not this one, maybe the next. Thanks again for keeping us all in touch. Chris
Jan 29, 2009 9:30 AM Cyndy Brier (cyndy@stmark-elca.org ) Thank you for keeping us updated on the reunion plans. Certainly have fond memories of MVHS days. I regret that I will not be attending the upcoming reunion. I hope those of you that do will have a wonderful time! Best regards, Cyndy
Jan 29, 2009 9:59 AM Bill Roe diamondroe@hotmail.com) Thanks for the memories you can put me on the list to attend. As soon as you can send me a flyer I will forward it to Jackie Ash she is a school board member. She tells me that they will post it on the districts web site and will send it out to our schools mates. Thanks Bill Roe
Jan 29, 2009 5:04 PM Elaine (Hillman) Stricklin (ehstricklin@yahoo.com) Thanks for all the work you do to keep us informed. I was only at MVHS for my freshman and Senior years and haven't kept in touch with anyone from the area. I'd like to stay on the mailing list, but I don't think I would come to a reunion. But, I'm not saying no yet, so thanks for keeping me in the loop. Elaine
Jan 30, 2009 11:27 AM Linda (Lomeli) Vigil (Linda.Vigil@ucr.edu) Thanks for all your efforts to get people together. Seems life is so busy. I still live with my mother in the same house here in Moreno Valley since my father passed away in 1997 and I have worked at UCR since 1979. I have two children and two grandchildren and I have been divorced since 1978. I am very active in my church which is "City Church" in Riverside. I use wireless lap top in the house. I use my work email for correspondence. God is good! Take care and good luck with all your efforts. Linda
Jan 30, 2009 11:45 AM Brad Moore (BMoore@nfcna.com) Count me in as one of the old and no hair guys. I certainly remember the days of touch downs, three point shots and hitting one out of the park and now its hitting a little white ball somewhere on the green grass. Brad
Jan 30, 2009 4:41 PM Christine (Shaver) Beresky (cberesky@cox.net) Thanks for the pictures and trip down memory lane. I have not been back to the school since 1967, when I graduated! It looks like they have maintained it well and even made some improvements. Our website is amazing! I will make sure the others from the Class of 67, that I am still in contact with, know about it. Thanks for lending your talents and skills to make it happen. You can add my name and my brother Dan Shaver’s name, to the Veterans page. Dan is a retired Army Warrant Officer (W4) and I am a retired Naval Commander. Thanks. Tina
Feb 3, 2009 at 17:23 PM Mitzi (Olds) Lott mitzi141@msn.com WOW Terry Great job, thanks so much for all your time and work and for your effort in trying to keep friends together. I will pass this site along to all the people that I know who attended. Again I am so sorry for your loss of Gina, I'm sure she would be so proud of you for the development of this site. Mitzi
Feb 6, 2009 at 08:50 AM Bill Swagerty moval71@swagerty.net Thanks for that picture of the 'M' on the mountain. It caused a synapse that hadn't seen action in decades to fire. Bill
Feb 6, 2009 at 12:26PM Wally Christina hawkeye138@msn.com This is a great page Terry. We have needed a page like this one for years. It's quite special to look at some of the photos and remember the way it used to be with the dusty quad and the wide spanse of buildings that started Moreno Valley High School. Wally
Feb 7, 2009 at 08:53AM Kathy (Edmiston) Knox lrkkn@verizon.net Sorry to hear we had to cancel the reunion. It was a great idea and I like the fact that you are going to send out a questionnaire and work on setting a new date. How much does the website cost to maintain? Can we all send in a few bucks to help the cause and keep it going? Let us know! Take care! Kathy
Feb 7, 2009 at 09:36AM Shirley (Clark) Byron shirleybyron@msn.com This is a great site! A lot of time and effort went into this and can't wait to see it in its fullest. Brings back a lot of good memories Shirley
Feb 2, 2009 at 00:37AM Christine Clark-Depew forangelina@hotmail.com I don't know what to say about the rest of y'all (as we say out here in the Carolinas) not coming to the reunion, but if there was any way under God's heaven that I could make the 3000 mile trip, I would be there. I have a little more insight than some of you as to the amount of work and sleepless nights that our brother Terry put into making this website happen and also planning the reunion. Even though he is too much of a gentleman and a Christian as well, please let me say that I know he is very disappointed in how this all turned out. My heart breaks for him due to this massive labor of love he put his heart and soul into and now has had to cancel it. I am praying that those of you who really COULD have attended will think long and hard about it next time, if there is a next time. Terry, thank you from my heart of hearts for your efforts. A Viking through and through! Christy Feb 12, 2009 at 03:45 PM Mike Lukens frst6250@aol.com Great job!!! The class of 66 is still alive and kicking we had our 40th reunion at the Mission Inn. Dr. Rooney and Mr. Mendiola attended. We look forward to seeing and keeping in contact with all of the MoVal grads. Lots of good memories!!! . I think our community especially back then was one of a kind and truly a great place to grow up. A mixture of farming/ranching, military and Tom Sawyerish experiences. I like you, learned how to drive that old tractor and work in the groves and had fun along the way. Gosh I did so many jobs over the years in junior high and high school (Chicken ranches, smudging, painting fences at Kerr Stock Farm, hauling hay on and on) and learned and had fun doing each. I do remember your sister and now that my old brain is finally kicking in I do remember you. I am sorry I didn't put it altogether yesterday. I never really got along with Dave but did like living out where we did near the Moreno Dips. I worked for him even before he married my mom. I too started working for him when I was about 11 or 12. He always paid me by letting me swim in the old pond or "camping out" with him never really paid me with money. When he married my mom then it all became work for the family, no pay. Lot's of stories I could tell. But, they were good experiences and a great education. I do remember the two stories you mentioned. Mr Sawyer and hiding Mr. Mendiola's Izetta. I have 100's of stories like that. I will tell you who has many also is Maynard Thomas, and boy he can tell them. Our class of 66 had our 40th at the Mission Inn in 06 and lots of people attended including Mr. Mendiola and Dr. Rooney. Sad to say Dr. Rooney passed away last month. His daughter called and told us he died of cancer. I left a message for Tom Chelbana and I try to get him to come as well. Mike Lukens
Feb 12, 2009 at 06:30PM Gary Merchant merchblackcloud@comcast.net Thank You Terry, for all your hard work to keep us MoVal-ers in touch, both thru the great website and reunions. Though I live in Richmond Texas, I offer what service I can to helping with reunion planning in the future. As we get older, lets try not to forget those we grew up with in the formative years. I wish all much health, success and happiness. Gary
