James Andrew Hernquist December 25, 1951 - April 9, 2008
After a long 4-year courageous battle with brain cancer, Jim Hernquist passed away on April 9, 2008 in the loving arms of his wife and five daughters at home in Henderson, NV due to complications from the disease. Jim was born in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Master’s degree in Business Administration. He was a C.P.A. for over 25 years and spent his career with Arthur Andersen & Co., Continental Homes, Inc., Designer Properties, Inc., MDC Holdings, Inc., the Schulman Group, and Pacific Properties and Pacific Homes. The culminating pride and joy of his career was spent as President of Ovation Development & Property Management in Las Vegas, NV. He leaves behind his wife Angela of 27 years and his daughters Jennifer (26), Courtney (24), Allison (22), Lindsay (20), and Morgan (18), his father & mother William (deceased) & Cratice Hernquist, brothers Robert Hernquist & William Hernquist II, sisters Susan Campbell-Hernquist & Karen Anderson, father and mother-in-law John & Helen Koclanes, brother in-laws Peter Koclanes & Ted Koclanes, and a lifetime of family members and friends he chose and loved as family.
Dear, Dear brother, you were my friend and classmate, I am proud that I had the opportunity to share with you those years gone by, you will always be loved and remembered on this site and in all of our hearts, rest in eternal sleep, your smiling face will always be remembered.
