As reported to me by Lester Woodward and confirmed by his sister, Gale (Crager) McMahon. Walter Crager has passed and now has returned to walk the Halls o Valhalla at Moreno Valley High School with his friends who preceded him. Back to a time of innocence and the warmth of the sun on our backs. Where there was an abundance of the gaiety of friends talking in the quad social events and at sporting events, back to a time of our childhood when things were good!
Robert L. Crager (1952 - 2018)
Robert L. Crager, 66 years old, graduate of Moreno Valley High School, class of 1970, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, from glioblastoma cancer. Robert grew up in Sunnymead, Calif., and moved to Alaska in 1971, and worked in a fishing Lodge in Katmai, Alaska. He fell in love with Alaska and stayed. He became an iron worker and worked on the trans-Alaska pipeline and many of the buildings in Anchorage, which became his home. He later became a computer technician and ultimately worked in IT for the State of Alaska court system. He retired in April 2016. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and loved all the winter and summer activities Alaska had to offer.
Robert kept close all his family, cousins and friends and made sure he made it back to California for Thanksgiving every year. Robert traveled extensively, visiting places most of us only dream of like Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, North Africa, the Galapagos, India Asia and more, much of it with his good friend, Michael Carey.
He is survived by his brother, Walter Crager of Moreno Valley, CA; sister, Gale McMahon of Pacific Palisades, CA; brother, Don Crager of Palm Desert, CA.; and many very much-loved cousins and close friends.
Robert was a member to the Alaska Shriners, Knik Canoers & Kayakers canoeing club, Dancing Bears Contra and Ironworkers Union 751 of Anchorage. He was an usher for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts; he volunteered for the Big Brother of Alaska and numerous other organizations. Services will be held for Robert at the Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. Viewing will be at 1 p.m., and service at 1:30 p.m. with a celebration of his life following the services in the Chapel Lounge.

Very sorry to hear this sad news. My heartfelt condolences go out to Robert's family. He appears to have lived life to the fullest. Kudos to him; sympathy to those that remain 'behind'. Selah
