Jennifer Dawn Roby Peters

After high school I went immediately to MCC then to Iowa State where I majored in Art/Design with a minor in Marketing. I was then given an opportunity in 1993 to open North Beach Design Center in Muscatine. That experience helped me determine what I wanted to be when I "grew up". That's how I ended up in SCC's Interior Design program.

I met Ben Peters (MHS Class of '91) in 1994. He turned a touring golf Pro right after college and I was able to travel to the southeast a few times to watch him while he lived out his dream of making the PGA tour. He played on several mini-tours and in two PGA events and then called it quits in 1999 to start his "life". We married and moved to Milwaukee for his new job (Industrial Sales) in 2000. We lived there for 7 wonderful years.

In Wisconsin, I worked for a couple large home builders in Sales and Design. During this time, Ben and I also realized a talent we have for fixing up homes. Our first project started in Milwaukee. We are now on project #4.

After years of trying to start a family (and during one of our remodels), we were surprised by the arrival of our miracle daughter Maura Faith in 2004. She has made us the proudest of parents and terrible procrastinators in home re-hab. It just seems to take a lot longer to get things done these days!

We returned to Iowa in 2007 to be closer to family and friends after I went through a major health scare (Pacemaker implanted May '06). Enough said... :)

We now live in Bettendorf and I work as a Conceptual Plan Designer and Marketing Director for Eldridge Lumberyard. Ben is still in industrial sales and still playing golf. He's no longer a Pro, but is very successful on the Amateur circuit.

It's great to be back in Iowa. We have made incredible friends and love having Maura close to her relatives!

Spending countless weekend hours at the Mall with friends, the downtown movie theatre, pizza at lunch, Chorus trip to Chicago, parties at the Barn, Purple Passion, big hair, Dan Kitchen, Kaye Petersen and Kelly Morgan, wearing prom dresses and matching Converse to school with Becky Jones and Christy Lemkau during senior week, cruising the one-ways, shoulder pads, Mr.Calvetti and volleyball Black Fridays. Oh, I could go on and on...
