Julie Stiglets (Reagle)

Went to see the family today...went to Tahlequah to see my dad. I haven't been there in years, and I was stunned at how much it has grown. We were thrilled when McDonald's opened, and now it's sooo different!

It has changed bunches. I loved going over there every week when we took care of G'ma. I can't imagine why Ryan wants to leave a perfectly good school that is paid for to attend one that will cost thousands a year. Still trying to wrap my head around this one.

How was the family, Julie? Family visits are always interesting.

Julie Stiglets (Reagle)

Family visits are definitely interesting, Joanie. That's really all I can say about the visit right now.

chris - next time you see toby, ask him how he broke his finger! ;> how's the crack house overhaul coming along? you could at least show a little respect for memphis & refer to her as "stanky leg" and not skank for goodness sakes! what's her pet name for you? (anyone care to take a guess?!?!)

susan w.g. - you must take pics the nite of the big shindig at your crib and email 'em to me!

the weather has been amazing here this week - played golf this morning....(i sucked!) the big, 3-week long houston livestock show & rodeo ends tomorrow - going to see extreme bull riding and zz top (no cannibus will be consumed i can promise you that!)

where is everyone tonight?

03/21/09 10:49 PM #2356

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

I've been watching ballgames and sewing a purse. It's a long story. I'm doing a sewing workshop with the girls at Murrow (place where mom works). Thought it might be a good idea to actually have tried the pattern before working on it with teenage girls.

Aren't you all so happy that Tama has had wonderful weather this week??? No, I'll not hate....I'm really glad for you, Tama. Our weather has pretty much sucked.

03/21/09 11:01 PM #2358

Tresa Reeder (Davis)

I am not ready to go back to work. I am ready for myrtle beach.

I don't sew. the only thing i can sew is a button....

good night all..

i'm guessing the weather wasn't so great in the wagoner/muskogee area this past week... sorry i figjam'd about the houston weather! feel free to pack a brown (no pun intended) paper bag and come on down anytime joanie! and i can proudly say that i too sewed a purse one time - back in the day, me & kay decamp (maybe even lana too) made jean purses out of the pant legs of our old jeans!

g'nite sweethearts...g'nite - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm not ready for school either. It seems like the breaks go by so quickly. For the next month or so, we're just going to be focused on testing, which has taken so much of the fun out of teaching!

03/22/09 11:36 AM #2361

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

Testing totally dictates what is taught and the schedule of school now. Even though our 2nd graders aren't tested, the 3rd graders in our building will be doing nothing but test prep and that means they get first priority for ANYTHING that happens in school for the next month. They just want us to stay in our rooms and keep out of the way. But since test scores are the bar that rates your school there's no way around it. No one wants to be on that published list of poor performing schools.

03/22/09 03:20 PM #2362

Tresa Reeder (Davis)

I hate testing. My kids don't have a chance. They shouldn't make kids on an IEP take state tests.

03/22/09 09:04 PM #2363

Julie Stiglets (Reagle)

I always hated testing IEP kids too. Give an 8th grade reading test to a kid with an IQ of 48, then act surprised when they can't pass it.
