Linn Baty Sweeney

SACRAMENTO - Linn Baty Sweeney, age 80, passed away January 20, 2023, in Sacramento after a brief illness.
Linn was born August 9, 1942, in Los Angeles to Mabel and Otto Baty. She grew up in Napa, attended local schools, and graduated from Napa High in 1960. She married after high school and had two daughters. Linn owned and operated Linn's Antiques in Yountville from 1970-1972, with her mother Mabel.
Linn was an accomplished artist with no formal training. She was known for her beautiful paintings that won prizes at the Napa Town and Country Fair. Her specialties were oils and acrylics. She was a talented writer, actress and played piano beautifully. Linn performed in local productions at the Birdcage Theatre in Oroville, CA. She was an avid collector of antiques.
Linn married Robert Sweeney in 1973. They lived in Oroville, CA, from 1973 to 2013. They moved to Sacramento in 2013. Linn loved to work in her yard and grew beautiful roses.
Linn is survived by her daughters: Linore Callison Bouska and son-in-law, Gregory, Fairhope, AL, Melisa Callison, West Sacramento; granddaughter, Erin Bouska, Los Angeles, Austen Bouska, El Paso, TX, and Colin Bouska, Huntsville, AL. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sweeney; and parents Mabel and Otto Baty.
Per Linn's request no services were held. She was a devout Christian and is with her heavenly Father.
The best way to honor Linn is to adopt a rescue dog. She loved dogs and always had a dog. Donations can be made she requests donations to Children's Tumor Foundation in honor of Ava Lowell (www.ctf.org).
