Dayton Coffey

Dayton Coffey, 99, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in Cambridge, Md. He was born on May 6, 1907, in Santa Rosa to Thomas Coffey and Lillian Allen Coffey.

Dayton attended high school in Santa Rosa and graduated in 1925. He taught speech and drama in Napa schools for 25 years. A popular teacher, he was also a patient and loving husband and father, and never lost his wonderful sense of humor. Dayton married Ray Coffey in 1935.

Dayton was preceded in death by his wife Ray, in 1994. He is survived by his daughter, Pat Coffey Titus, of Cambridge, Md.; grandchildren, Matt Titus, of Mont Vernon, N.H., and Jason Titus of Palo Alto.

A memorial service is scheduled for Satuday, May 5 at 5 p.m., at Jon and Pat Titus' home in Cambridge, Md. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Common Cause.
