Well good morning Kids:  I like to think of all of you as those beautiful young people that we used to be, before time took its toll on all of us.  I can remember Steve and Madeline as just a cute little couple who I was privileged to serve, as their best man at their wedding.  Now Steve was selling cars when we were going to Napa High and making as much or more than our teachers.  I wish that he were not plagued by calls of the world, like games of wager, which were always a problem.  He picked me up at Sac State one Friday evening at my apartment and said I needed a break from school.  Off we went to South Shore the home of Black Jack and Poker.  Steve generously gave me $500 to wager with, little knowing that I was going to school on the GI Bill at $165 a month and that, that $500 would never be wasted on gambling.  As we left the Casino, sometime in the morning, Steve told me that he needed to go back and he could break the Casino.  We he did not and we headed back to the world of tryng to get a College Degree.  He made some pretty big mistakes in life and I hope that those of us who knew him would remember him as the sweet kid he was in High School.  All of us need a little Grace and Mercy that only God can provide.

Well said Tom. I knew Steve well. He was always a good friend even after I joined the navy we stayed in touch with Steve and Madeline. Then the navy being what it is sending you off all over the place I lost touch with Steve and many other classmates who I really liked and respected. RIP Steve.
