In Memory

Judy Bishop (James)

Judy Bishop James, beloved by family and friends, died on July 4, 2008, after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. She passed quietly at home, in her sleep, while under the loving care of her family.

Judy lived in Santa Rosa for over 40 years and had deep ties and a strong commitment to the community. Whether at her job or in her charity work, she brought her talent and her tireless effort to each and every one of her many projects. She was special in her dedication to helping others. She attended many charity events to raise money and spent much time gathering items for families in need. Many of these items she made herself, being an accomplished seamstress and cook. She particularly loved children and worked with many local children’s charities. She always cared about each child and carefully chose items for each basket and gift bag going to the children and their families.

Judy enjoyed her career in real estate and found deep satisfaction in helping people get their first home or buy the home of their dreams.

Judy grew up in a military family and lived in many places around the world, from the Philippines and Hawaii to London and the Alameda Naval Air Station here in the Bay Area.

Judy will be missed by many people and especially by her family. She is survived by her mother, Agatha Bishop; brother, Edwin Bishop; daughter, Laura James; sons, Greg James and Aaron Michael James, as well as her granddaughter, Paris. She is also remembered by her fiancé, Larry Mitchell.
