School Story:

Reflections on growing up in Napa.
It's a little after 5 in the afternoon. A Modern Plumbing truck leaves Shearer school headed toward Lincoln school. Elmer (Babe) Kroplin is at the wheel. In the back are members of the Spiders Fly League team. Standing or sitting on the plumbing parts are, Dan Charlesworth, Al Sherwood, Allen Brambrinck, Denny O'Donald, Jim Waggoner, Mike Kroplin, me and my little brother Pink. We are headed to play in the championship game against the Yellow Jackets. Jim Barbeau vs. Dan Charlesworth on the mound. These are happy memories.
Napa Indians football teams heads to Hughes Stadium in Sacramento to face the heavily favored Dragons. With less than a minute to play Brooks hits Davidson for the game winner. Vern referred to this play as THE
CATCH. Brooks calls it THE PASS. Start of undefeated Season.

Bill played on the Ridgeview and Napa Senior High Basketball teams
Bill said as our childhood friends and classmates are eulogized, we all should realize how very fortunate we were to grow up in this place at our time.
