Mary Janette Clay

Napa - Mary Janette Hayes, 54 of Twin Fall, Idaho, died Jan. 6 (1997) in Napa from complications of her lung disease while waiting for a lung transplant.

Jan was born in Lynwood, CA to Ernest and Marie Salkil Clay. She grew up and attended schools in California and graduated from Napa High School in 1960.

She worked as a waitress for a number of restaurants in the Napa area. She also drove a school bus in Napa and later in Twin Falls, ID. She moved to Twin Falls in 1990 where in 1994 she received her associate of arts degree in computer science from College of Southern Idaho. She was recently employed by Cactus Pete's in Jackpot, NV.

Jan was a very giving and loving person and was always there for her family and others who need her. She was very interested in the community and was always trying to find ways to help those who were less fortunate than herself. Jan was a con-founder of the annual children's Halloween Party held at the fairgrounds in Napa.

She recently relocated to California where she was placed on the list for a lung transplant at the Stanford Medical Center.

She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Jan is survived by her three children, a daughter Kimberly Pruett of Hansen, ID, a son Shannon Hayes of Napa and daughter Kambra Hayes of Twin Falls; two grandchildren, Jocyln and Jaycee Pruett of Hansen; her mother Mary Clay of Twin Falls; one sister Shirley Gilford of Charleston, SC; one brother William Clay of Twin Falls; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces,, nephews and cousins. Jan was preceded in death by her grandson Jackie (Hoss) Pruett in May of 1996.

Funeral services will be held at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls, ID with the Rev. Mark Brown of the Eastside Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Twin Falls Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Lung Association.
