Charles "Chuck" Close

Charles A. Close was born to Robert and Lucille Close on August 23, 1941 in Yukon, Oklahoma and passed away June 4th, 2015. He was a veteran serving in the US Army.

He was a planner at Mare Island Naval shipyard for 30 years. Charles had been married to his wife Gayle for 51 years.

For many years he played music with his band "Mavericks". He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, attending antique and collectables fairs and he was a bowler for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Close of Napa, one brother, Richard Wright of Napa, five sisters; Roberta Glen O' Neal of Missouri, Darlene Conaster of Maui, Hawaii; Jeannie Butch Feigel of Napa, Sheri Burton Bay of Napa and Lori Shawn Herrung of Missouri. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles was loved by all. A reception in his memory will be held at St. Appollinaris Catholic Church Hall on June 13th, 2015 at 11:00 am. Please bring your favorite dish to share.

Inurnment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon at a later date.
