In Memory

Janice Converse (Evans)

Janice Converse (Evans)

Janice Rae Converse, June 2nd, 1942 - August 21st, 2021, no obituary available

Janice passed away at home in Grants Pass, Oregon. She graduated from Napa Senior High School in 1960, while in school she sang in the chorus. She had three children, twins Daniel and Dennis and a daughter Deanna. She worked in banking for years, and some bookkeeping. She retired some years ago, and enjoyed hiking, photography, and making calendars out of her photos which she was quite good at it. She was a wonderful lady, and will be missed. She joined the Oregon Welcome Wagon Group in January, 2006. During her 15 years in the group she was an extremely active member, she held numerous positions, the last being our Historian. She always dedicated her time lovingly and effortlessly with her precious and memorable smile. Some rememberances; "Such wonderful memories of a fantastic lady! Love ya Janice and all the camping, activites and WW Newcomer parties. Thanks for being a great historian taking all of our pictures. You will be missed by so many". Ann Barnham. "You girls and your adventures and now memories make me smile. We should all be so lucky to have the friendship you and Janice had. The following was written by by Janice Evans granddaughter Kimberly Schnapps. It sums up the wonderful person we all knew. "You fought so hard and so long. You beat cancer, you beat pneumonia. you fought bone marrow disease and anything else that was thrown your way, you dodged it like a bad ass outta Hell". "You have shown us all strength, courage, bravery, kindness, warmth and Love. Rest Easy Beautiful, sweet outgoing soul. You are at peace now. You were loved by each and every one of us. You wll live through us all, with our memories of you. I am glad we were with you through your last and toughest hours. We will fulfill your last wishes and we will spread your ashes at Union Valley Reservoir. I love you Grandma, we all love you".

Thanks to Benetta Tidd Reichenberg, Arlie Lloyd & Gary Converse for their imput in this rememberance.

Janice's family, and my family, grew up together, along with her brothers Gary and Jim, and her sisters Darlene, and Marylee. We were all quite the noise makers on those Saturday evenings when the Converse's came to vist our house on Trower Ave. As we got older we used to ride our bikes, and meet up Dry Creek Rd, half way, and visited awhile, and went our ways. They went to St. Helena schools for some time, and later they moved back to Napa schools. I love my cousins, and we miss them. Janice's sister Darlene and Marylee, passed some years back. Janice was always loving, caring, and kind. Janice taught me how to do the twist, back in the day, when she and our friend Mary Longoria lived in SFO, on Lombard St. She was a great dancer, and loved music as well. So many wonderful memories and stories to tell. We used to go camping once in awhile at Union Valley Res.. We had some great familyh picnics at the old Conn Dam swimming area, years ago. I believe we will see Janice again in anoter life, and where we will meet our friends and other family members, when God's grace and mercy makes those dreams and hopes come true. What a great day that will be. Janice will be missed by our family and many friends, but her suffering is done, and that is a good thing. Janice is loved by so many. May she rest in peace.
