William "Bill" Drennen VIEW PROFILE

William Bill Drennen

William Joseph Drennen was born in Moline, Illinois, Son of Geneva Eskew and Roy Drennen. He received his Bachelors in Science Degree from San Francisco State University in 1964. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Gretchen (Paustenbach) Drennen for 54 years.

Bill's warm personality and ability to talk to anyone made his career in sales soar as a manufucturing sales rep. He started his career at Uniroyal, where he travelled between Oregon and Washington selling Ked's and Grasshopper Shoes. After working 22 years for Uniroyal, Bill decided to go on his own and started his own company called Pacific Safety Associates. He continued to work as a sales representative until 2013 when he decided to retire.

Bill spent much of his life coaching his daughters in various sports, which included softball through Mt Sylvania Little League. He coordinated the umpire clinics and coached multiple All Star Teams. He was the Junior Varsity Assistant Coach for girl's basketball at Wilson High School as well. Bill also enjoyed spending his Wednesday's with the men's club at Progress Golf Club where he played consistently with the same fellows he fondly called the "Old Codgers". He also enjoyed traveling to Palm Springs, Mexico and Hawaii with his wife and family. He was a huge lover of dogs and took a special interest in all of his grand dogs.

Bill is survived by his wife, Gretchen Drennen, his children , Amy Floom, JJ Bell (Ken) and Carey Hunt (Grove) his grand children, Ryan Floom, Corey Floom, Emma Hunt, Ellie Hunt, Jackson Bell and Sammy Hunt. His step grand children included Alan and Kacie Bell.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 11th @ 4:30 pm, St. John Fisher Parish, 7007 S.W. 46th St., Portland OR Celebration of Life following the service at Stockpot Restaurant located at 8200 SW Scholl's Ferry Road, Beaverton, Or 97225.
