John Joseph Gallagher

John Joseph Gallagher, 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at his home in Napa. He was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Berkeley to John and Kathryn Gallagher.

John came to Napa in 1950. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Redwood Middle School and was a graduate of Napa High School in 1960. He had worked for Kaiser Steel in Napa and then went to work at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 23 years, retiring as a Nuclear Machinist. John had been working for the Ford dealer in Napa for the past six years.

John was an avid fisherman and hunter and he was active with his children in sports.
 
John is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Napa; mother Kathryn Kneeland of Napa; daughters, Brenda Christ and Melinda Wagner of Napa; brothers, James A. Gallagher of Santa Margarita and Dennis J. Gallagher of Irvine; and sister Patricia Gerard of Santa Clara. John is also survived by his five grandchildren: Bretton, J'Anna, Alexis, Niko and Tanner.
