In Memory

James Gary Greco

James "Gary" Greco passed away on July 4th following a courageous battle with cancer. A lifetime Napa resident, Gary was 68 years old, born Dec. 11th, 1942, to Carl and Alice Greco. For the last years of his career he worked as an electrical project manager for Guarantee Electric.

Gary loved the outdoors and had many hobbies, including golfing, hiking and traveling. He was industrious, always doing a project around the house including building a deck, making golf clubs, tending to the yard or arranging new metal art in the backyard.

He greatly enjoyed retired life, spending much of the time traveling to places such as Alaska, Canada and Arizona with his wife Pam, towing their fifth wheel trailer. An active member of the Napa community, Gary belonged to the Sons in Retirement (SIR) group and led the Napa branch as "Big Sir" one year. Gary and his wife belong to the Elks Lodge and have many friends in the area.

Gary was a friend to everyone. He was selfless, hardworking, conscientious and always willing to lend a hand or make a golf club for a friend. We miss him immensely.

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Luis Dimapilis of Oakland; son and daughter-in-law, Nate and Aimee Greco of American Canyon; two grandchildren, Harrison and Nicole Greco; sisters, Donna Greco of Napa and Laurie Greco of Redway; cousin Marie Henderson and husband Ed of Napa; and cousin Carol Reding of Carmel.

The funeral will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 960 Caymus St., on Monday July 11, at 1 p.m., followed immediately by a celebration of Gary's life at the Napa Elks Lodge, 2840 Soscal Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Memorials and words of sympathy may be sent to the family online at tulocaycemetery.org.
