One of the true nice guys.  I remember Darryll as the dodgeball king at Intermediate School in the 4th and 5th grade.  I was new to California and Intermediate; the big guy always went out of his way to help me out.

Darryll was my tenth grade boyfriend.  I was called into the office of the Dean of Girls because we were spotted (binoculars?) holding hands while walking around the track at lunchtime.  A wild and crazy duo we were.  Re

Rest in Peace, Darryll.

Darryll was one of my neighborhood friends.  We grew up in what we called the alphapet neighborhood, A street through I street, mostly between Jefferson and York down to Lincoln.  We were all friends then, played ball together on the streets and up at the high school on the old football field or sneaking into the old gym on weekends or during the holidays.  Darryll was a really nice guy, a good athlete, really good singer and had a great sense of humor.  I think the only  guy better at dodge ball was probably Darryl Dudley.  I believe Darryll joined the marines a little before I joined the navy.  I wish I could be there for his military service.  Rest in peace Darryll.  Say hello to our shipmates, marines and soldiers when you get to Fiddler's Green my friend.

My cousin Darryl was buried Wednesday at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. He was accorded military honors, with family members present. I wish Darryl a safe journey into eternity, maybe one fine day we will meet again in the presense of our Lord, and maybe I might hear him sing again, and we can play in the heavens as we did as children.
