Grady Tom Kear

Grady Tom Kear passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 with all his family by his side. He was born to Claymon Stanley Kear and Leona Haisten Hear on Dec. 28, 1942 at Parks Victory Hospital in Napa. Grady graduated from Napa Union High School in June 1960.

He enlisted in the Navy on July 25, 1960 and served for four years as a 2nd Class Boilerman. After the U.S. Navy, he joined the Carpenter's Union Local #2114 as a carpenter apprentice. Grady worked in Napa as a carpenter and foreman for 30 years. He married Shirley Gene Martin, his high school sweetie on Feb. 8, 1970.

Grady is survived by his wife Shirley; three daughters, April Lynn Kear, Jill Sueanne Kear and Kristi Mae Hansen and her husband, Ben; one brother, George and his wife, Elaine Kear and their daughter, Tiffany and Katie Kear, all of Napa. He is also survived by nephews and nieces Mark Kear; Jennifer, Wendy, Laura Martin; Steves Maples and Lynnetter Ristine, Mike and Mindy Martin; and numerous cousins in various states. Grady was preceded in death by his parents, Claymon and Leona Kear, and his brother, Billy Ray Kear in 1970 and Roy Dale Kear in 1993.
