Albert Knight

Albert L. "Al" Knight, 70, of Sweet Home, Ore., formally of Napa, passed away Sunday, March 17th, 2013 in Springfield, Ore, at Sacred Heart Medical Center at River Bend.

He was born May 14th, 1942, in Napa, to William and Ethel (Fleming) Knight.

Al lived in Napa for most of his life. He attended school there and later owned and operated his own construction and excavation company. He married Carol Redfern on Oct. 28th, 1961, in Reno Nevada.

Al and Carol moved to Sweet Home in 1991. He started Mid-Valley Excavation where he worked until retiring in 2011. Al enjoyed doing things for anyone in need.

He was a member of the Sweet Home Mennonite Church.

Al is survived by his wife, Carol Knight of Sweet Home, son, Dale Allen Knight of Napa, sister, Roena Conway of Ocala, Fla., grandchildren, Jacob Knight of Eureka Ca., Tara Knight of Napa, Melony Loper of Robertsdale, Ala. and Cassandra Knight also of Robertsdale, greatgrandson Ean Loper of Robertsdale, and nephews Mark Conway of St. Petersburg, Fla., and William Knight of Ukiah, Ca.

He was preceded in death by his son Dean Ray Knight; brother Walter Lewis Knight and his parents.

A memorial service will be at 11am, Wednesday, March 27th, at the Sweet Home Mennonite Church.
