In Memory

Harley Pearson

Harley E Pearson passed away at home on August 13, 2014 after a bravely fought battle with cancer.

He was born on January 8, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma, and when he was two years old, the family moved to Napa, California.

In 1959 Harley married his high school sweetheart, Sharron Louise, and together they raised three children, moving to Washington State in 1965.

In 1975 he married Sharon Law and added two step-children to his family. Harley opened H& S Industrial Supply in 1985 which he operated with his wife and step-daughter Joy Bradford. He was still very involved with the business at the time of his death and counted so many of his customers as friends.

Harley enjoyed working on his 1940 Ford Street Rod, going to “rod runs,” golfing, and drag races. He especially looked forward each year to driving with his high school friends to the National Hot Rod Reunion (also known as “a Gathering of Geezers”) in Bakersfield, California. It was a trip “strictly for the guys” and a great time was had by all.

Harley will be greatly missed by all. He was “one of a kind,” a very special, caring man with a fantastic sense of humor and a smile you never forget.

Harley is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children Mike (Lori) Pearson, Colleen Mueri (and fiance; Bruce), Lisa (Ken) Flyberg, step-children Rod Law, Joy (Dave) Bradford; and grandchildren, Jesse, Shane, Trista, Ashley, Nick, Louis, Bethany, Faith, Olivia, three great-grandchildren, and his former spouse Sharron Empens. He was preceded in death by his parents Carnie G and Eva E Pearson, brother Carnie J Pearson and sister Cindy Bull.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 10:30 A.M. at New Heights Church, 7913 NE 58th Avenue, Vancouver, immediately followed by a reception at the Bradford residence.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to cancer research.

Harley and I were grammer school and High School buddies. We met each other a Salvador in the second grade.  He was a great young man then, and I am sure he was a great guy until he passed. I know his family will miss hiim. I will always have a great memory of Harley, and I hope I see him again some day.

What do I know, but as I remember it Harley first married Louise Law, Louis's twin sister and I knew them at Intermediate School. A couple of things about his obit didn't quite make sense regarding marriages. Dick Ohlandt was a vary good friend of Harley and went to the funeral. I will see him soon and ask him about it.

I also remember Harley from Salvador.  He was always very friendly, with a smile on his face.  My condolences to his family.

I remember Harley from Napa Junior High and Redwood Junior High.  I remember Harley and Louise when they were going together.  Harley was a really nice guy and Louise was very cute and a really nice person also.  My condolences to all of Harley's family.
