James (Jim) Pearl

Dear Family of Dick Shelton,

Dick was a gentleman to me. We rode the Napa High School bus home together. Dick got off in the Hagen Road area and I later on the Monticello Road. We talked about his love of golf and sports. I was caught off guard one day on a bus ride, when Dick got very sick. He seemed to be in very good physical shape, like an athlete that works out with weights--common now, but not so much in the late 1950s!

I was not surprised when I heard that Dick made short order of a "bully" in gym class one day. Dick never made trouble, but he could "finish trouble," if it came his way.

Dick was born in Idaho; 15 years ago My Family and I moved to Idaho--good fishing, hunting, and geology! My career was with the U.S. Geological Survey, Menlo Park, CA.

I am so sorry that Dick "passed on" so very early.

Please feel free to call or visit us in Northern Idaho at Hayden Lake near Coeur d'Alene.

God Bless the Family of Dick Shelton!  Jim Pearl (Class of 1960)  2087721890   (July 2, 2010)
