Marion George Weitz

     Private funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. for Marion George Weitz, Jr., 23 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. Marion G. Weitz, Sr. of 1578 Silver Trail, who took his own life in Santa Rosa, July 11th, 1965.

    The body of the youth, who planned to enroll at Santa Rosa Junior College for the fall semester, was found in his apartment, Sunday.  Coroner Andrew Johansen termed the death a suicide and said young Weitz died Friday. He left a note for his family.

     Described as a "talented young man who was searching for a reason for living and didn't find the answers," he was gifted in music and art and had been seriously painting for some time.

     A native of Portland, Oregon, he attended school in Tracy and Oakland before he came to Napa with his parents in 1958. After his graduation from Napa High School, he served in the Army for two years and then enrolled at Santa Rosa Junior College.

     He is also survived by sisters, Karen Hubbard of San Jose, Shelby Bailey and Sabrina Weitz, all of Napa; and a brother, Gerald Weitz of Napa.

     The Rev. Erwin Bollinger will officiate at the final rites which will be followed by inurnment at Tulocay Cemetery.

     The family prefers that anyone that wishes to send a remembrance make a contribution to a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
