In Memory

Marilyn Manson (Lokken)

Marilyn Lorraine Lokken passed away Oct. 28, 2016, quietly in her sleep surrounded by family and friends. She was  born on Oct 17, 1942 in Napa CA. As a young girl, she enjoyed swimming, reading, singing and dancing and finished her education at Napa High School in 1960. Marilyn married a young man from Minnesota, Alfred Lokken, Jr. After Al joined the Navy, they traveled all over the United States where they lived and raised their 3 daughters, Nancy, Donna and Patty. After 20 years of service, Al and Marilyn settled in Fernley, Nevada where they raised their youngest daughter, Charissa. Through the years, she worked many places, but one of her favorites was American Bank Stationery where she made many life-long friends. Her days were filled with a passion for reading, and she was able to pass this love to others by teaching young children to read at Napa Junction Elementary. Marilyn love life and a great party!! You could find her either at the San Francisco Opera House with Diana, Beach Side, or her local “B” Street bar with Linda. She lived, loved and laughed. She taught her grandchildren to never stop trying and the true meaning of selfless giving. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred M. Lokken, her father and mother WR Manson and Lillian L. Manson, sister Carolyn and her only son, Billy Ray. She leaves behind daughters, Nancy Lokken Fox, Donna Lokken VanFleet, Patty Lokken, Charissa Lokken and Susan Pense, her sister with Leanora Anne Date, her nieces, Julie Bower, Sandi Powel, Dee Dee Burke, Christina Marie Cabrera and nephew Steven Date. Her grandchildren include Crystal Flores, Christian Olson-Lokken, Bryon Lokken, Greggory VanFleet, Whitney VanFleet, April Hogan and Michelle Brockmann. Her family also included 15 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins and countless others that called her “grandma”. She will be missed by many and loved by all.

This obituary was difficult to read so some of the names may be misspelled.

Posted for her daughter, Charissa Lokken.

I love you Mommy. Thank you, you raised a smart independent sassy woman. I have the ability to see through people's bullshit and the skills to handle it. I have the attributes of a warrior. I have the ability to provide for my family and to show my daughter how to be a forward-thinking, independent, resilient brave woman. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and your wisdom. You inspired so many people, it's truly remarkable what one woman was able to accomplish without even trying. I will forever be your little light bulb and I will always shine bright.
