Well, if Jane can post photos of her wonderful holiday ... I think it's only appropriate to share some pix of my magical Cayenne vacation (French Guiana). Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed my time there.

Larry (& all the others who seem so surprised & concerned re: the Dickel baseball bat debacle) you've got it all wrong ---  it was the bat that turned her into such a nice person........

Mary -- do you really want Dave to feel like a Queen?  ---  Or maybe you know something about him the rest of us don't.......

Hello Classmates,

Fred and I just made the final edit of our Memory book.  We had to have several mistakes corrected and made sure that names were spelled correctly and with the correct pictures.  Also the junior high pictures had the wrong school names so those had to be changed also.  The color is great and I am sure you will be impressed with your copy of the memory book when it arrives in the mail very soon.   We are sorry for any delay, we just want the book to be perfect for you and a keepsake of our fabulous 50th class reunion !!!   Thank you.

Hello Marlyn and Fred,  Thank you so much for all your hard work to make our memory book great.  I can't wait to receive it.  Our reunion was the best.

Need your help suggesting a few songs to play behind the 1960's Napa history PowerPoint we played at the reunion. We will be posting it here as a video with music as soon as the music is determined. I have already acquired "Today" by the New Christy Minstrels, but I will need perhaps two more songs.

I posted this same request on Facebook: Napa High School Reunion -Class of 1964.

Dave: Loved the French Guiana photos!

Mary: Where was your castle? Looks Austrian.

Dave, I especially like the lady sitting on the ground knocking back a bottle of beer selling calendars.  At least I think that's what she is selling!

Debbie, good guess on the castle, it is actually one of the thousands along the Rhine, in Germany.  I was so bored after the first 500 I had to jump ship and go Reisling tasting then take a cab to get to the town where the group I was one of the leaders of was staying!  Aaaaaakkkkk  and prousit.

Bruce: real nice ha ha!

I was at Harrah's today walking past the south shore room. It reminded me that Mr Kulti, the orchestra teacher at Napa High, used to spend his summers working in the orchestra pit of that show room. Nice guy who lived a much more cosmopolitan life than we did (played for the rat pack).

Anybody else recall teachers supplementing their income during the summer? Who and where?

Bill,

Seem like we are edging closer to the truth regarding the J.C. dance. ;)

Mary, Debbie...

If you guys want to make a trip there,  I'll send some more places to visit...

I don't think the gal at the outdoor cafe was selling calendars ...

Although she did offer me half her beer

I'm more of a Zeller Schwartz Katz myself...

Larry, I remember Mr. Thornton who was our U.S. History teacher said he worked at a winery in the summer. I don't recall which one but he either led tours or poured wine for tasting.

Mary: You must have taken the river cruise we did! We took a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest along the Rhien, Mainz, and Danube rivers. One of our most favorite trips ever. Nothing like sitting on the rooftop of a boat sipping wine and watching those castles drift by one after the other. Beautiful countryside, small towns, castles, abbeys, and oh my the bratwurst! Half the clothes in my suitcase 'shrank". In fact, I've never been able to wear then again. Maybe I shouldn't take another cruise like that one?

Dave, I don't have time to dig out the photo, but we ran into about a dozen Australian aborigines lounging in the park in Cairns. Extreme drunkeness - too weak from drink to walk. Appeared they spent alot of time in the park.

Reminds of the old drunks on Brown Street back in the day. In fact, after high school I had a job in downtown Napa. I parked in BofA's parking lot for just a moment and snuck by the security gaurd they hired to keep people like me from parking in their lot. I couldn't have been gone fifteen minutes. When I get back a drunk had crawled into the backseat of my car to take a nap. He was sound asleep.  We didn't lock our car doors back then. I called out to the secuirty gaurd who says "Yep, there's a guy in your car" and walked away. I called the police who gently escorted this guy and his bottle of vodka or gin to jail to sleep it off. You know that four police cars showed up - they had so little to do. Of course I'm standing there surrounded by all those police cars and certain everyone thought I had robbed the bank.  Had to air out my car for an hour. I locked my car after that one.

Debbie,

I think that was me.

Sorry about the car.

I still take naps.

Thanks, Charlene.  I've decided that I'm seventeen --- for the 4th time.....

Dave -- thanks for the updated photo, but --- which one are you?

07/28/14 12:55 PM #444

Debbie German (Hammond)

Dave: That guy has taken piercing to a whole new level. Not to mention the tattoos. Yikes, his teeth are even white! Where is this "handsome" fellow from?

07/29/14 06:27 PM #445

David Johnson

Oh, you didn't know that was me? Don't I look better than when you found me in your car?

The one on the left Bruce.

Yeah, 17 all right. In your dreams. Which is probably what you're dreaming about...a 17 year old.
